Don’t look now, but 12 of the next 15 after this are on the road. Might want to put a couple points in the bank here.

Nah. We're already shooting for the 1st pick so we can blow it on Val's replacement.

I was thinking about going to this one, but looks like it may not work out.
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

So stupid that Faksa has to fight because he was going for a puck.

If nothing else, Bayreuther is treating his stick like a Gatling gun for firing pucks.

And buh bye Marchand.

Bayruther has some impressive offensive vision. He’s fun to watch.

The top PP unit is pretty good at going in circles near the blue line, but you don’t score goals cycling the puck 60 feet from the net.

I feel like I need to watch a few non Stars games, because I can’t really tell if the NHL just sucks to watch in general these days, or if it’s just this team. So much mucking and grinding and simplistic plays because that’s what the analytics say have a higher percentage success rate. There’s virtually no skill in the game anymore, apart from an occasional Spezza dangle. Hitting is more or less banned. If you don’t get a penalty, you get jumped after every legal hit, as Faksa did tonight. Maybe this has just been a particularly boring stretch from a mediocre team, but this has not been entertaining.

More endemic of this team, they are painfully mediocre.

It’s prevalent league wide. It’s why old timers are griping about the game today. As fast as everyone is, they are also coached to play so fast with the puck that it’s really rare to see creative offensive play. These guys are playing hot potato out there. It’s just a lot of chips, dumps, and short passes. It’s frantic and leads to chaos, but there isn’t a lot of pretty and fluid play.

I’m not finding these games fun to watch like I used to. If I miss a game, I’m not bummed at all because I know I didn’t miss much of the skill that made me a fan in the first play.

Can’t disagree. Bring back the red line and whistle the two line pass.

Between this secondary assist and him taking himself off the ice for almost a third of the game, I hope they name Marchand the #1 star.

Man, Sturm is more stubborn about holding on to his predetermined opinion of a player than I am.

He’s always wanted Nichushkin to be better than he is. He’s also aware of the team’s cap situation and that there aren’t star offensive players coming out of the woodwork here. Nichushkin finding a way to improve to be an average NHL player would actually be a big help for a team without any help on the horizon.

Rob Simpson (Stellick & Simmer) is doing 31 games in 31 NHL cities, in 31 nights. His first game was tonight in Dallas.

Awesome win. If they can play like that all season, they will rack up some victories.

Poor Lindell could've had a hat trick if he could get anything on net.

I chortled when they showed that the last time Dallas finished 0-0 in regulation was in 2009. Wasn't that Tippett's last season?

I actually agree with this too. It used to take real intelligence and skill to create offense. Now, a defenseman can just outlet a pass to a cherry picker. It's super boring.

This will not happen. Nichushkin will never score in bunches. I'm sick and tired of the Sturms trying to push this crap down my throat.

They don't even do that. When they first started allowing the two line pass, you saw some great long passes for breakaways. Now it's just a stretch pass that the forward deflects into the zone for a dump in.
