11/05 @ Boston - NOMAR BABY!

Postby Knives Out » Mon Nov 05, 2018 1:00 pm

Halak stopped 39 of 40 shots against the Preds last game, but the Bruins couldn't buy a goal and lost 1-0.
Halak (4-1-2, 1.45 GAA, .952 SV%) should get the start again tonight, and the best line in hockey is going to light us the *f-bomb* up to send a message.

Ritchie and Methot out, Heatherington and Dowling in, Khudobin with the start.

UPDATE: Rask will get the start. He'll be playing against us like his job on the line. Great.
That Hanzal's so hurt right now.

Ritchie can stay out as far as I'm concerned.

Heatherington again? Looks like a 5 D rotation then.

Probably need to scratch Honka and call up Bayreuther or whoever just to be safe.

Halak seems to find some crazy good winning streaks every time he goes somewhere new. Those always dry up. Maybe tonight is when his return to earth begins.

Honka has been unimpressive. He looks scared when he has the puck and unsure what to do with it.

I agree with Shapior that at this point, it's probably better to trade Honka. He's got no confidence thanks to asset mismanagement (gee, where have we heard that before?).

The Avs' MacKinnon line is probably the best line in hockey. At least right now.

They lack a dude who piles up Selkes and wins almost every face-off, hence they are not a constant threat at both ends of the ice.

At this incredible rate of secondary scoring, we could have multiple five goal scorers by the end of the season.

So the Stars still suck at exiting the zone with any good puck possession that leads to offense.

You know what? I'll give some credit. This team has absolutely nothing going for them. The top scorers are bone dry. They have absolutely no depth. The defense is depleted, and they're not even that good to begin with even when they're healthy. To even be competitive in this game and to be 3-1-1 on this road trip is impressive. It's not sustainable, but it's impressive.

You take points where you can get them. However, they looked bad this game. Really they we're mostly lucky to even get the point.

I agree.

The loser point has us tied for 3rd in the Central.

Khudobin is the real deal. Somehow he manages to look big in the net.

I missed this game, but the box score shows two penalties in OT. One was a too many men. How do you *f-bomb* up changing three guys?

If you think about it, the chances are 33% in OT versus 20% 5v5.

That might've been their worst game of the season. Chasing the puck the entire game, getting physically manhandled along the boards every single *fargin'* time, chipping it into the Bruins half just to get a change, the repeat. Totally did not deserve that loser point. Klingberg, especially, was unbelievably horrid.

That said: everyone else in the Central is also getting their asses kicked, so... third place!

I’m sure they’ll take what they can get. To get outplayed and still get a point in Boston on the 5th of a 6 game road trip is a good thing. Last year a similar late road trip killed their season.

We somehow got a point. Should ... should I make the next GDT anyways to finish her off?

The only reason we got that point was Khudobin. If Lehtonen had been in net, it would have been 6-1 Bruins after 10 minutes.

Sure. Why not. With the bar lowered as much as it is for this franchise, not losing is success.
