Is Ottawa good this year? I have no idea. Hopefully not as I enjoy early false confidence.

I hope Honka, Shore, and Hintz each get a goal.
That Hanzal's so hurt right now.

It will be pretty impressive for Honka and Hintz to score from the press box.

Pretty low-voltage game so far. Stars completely ran out of gas in the second half of the second.

Some better shifts as of late, but nothing getting in on Anderson.

Can we get Kari or Lindy back in here? At least they’d lose in shocking, hilarious ways. This is just slow, methodical underachieving.

Comeau has to be the worst first line right winger in the league, right?

I think he’s our Korpikoski replacement.

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll have more secondary scoring than you know what to do with once Hanzal is back.

They definitely are not good enough to go deep in the playoffs. First-round maybe but no further.

Hypeskanen has been very meh.

Don't forget that this same Ottawa team whupped up on a defense-heavy Kings team too, and took Chicago to OT.

Really, tho, the final score doesn't really reflect the actual game. Seguin beat Anderson twice, and neither puck went in. The 1st and 3rd goals were Methot (a) skating backwards away from the puck carrier/scorer, and (b) not bothering to cover the guy in front of the net (Methot also almost gave away another goal in the second but Bishop saved his ass. By sheer coincidence, Methot had like 30-40 friends and family in attendance watching him suck ass). The 2nd goal was Heiskanen finally making a rookie mistake and leaving Tkachuk uncovered at Bishop's doorstep.

Other than that, we didn't look all that bad outside of the low-energy second half of the second period. They actually looked really dangerous after we pulled Bishop for the last 6 minutes or so. Allegedly the Radulov-Nuke pairing had 9 scoring chances in just 5 minutes of ice time. And Spezza's assist to Klingberg was hella-sweet.

Remember, we don't have secondary scoring issues per Jim Nill even though 88% of the goals have come from the first line. I included Klingberg in the first line because of the PP; I also did not include the empty net goal by Faksa because that was pure luck. Even included it is 83%.

Both sound bad, but really, if you look that 15 of the 17 (or 18) goals scored are by those four, it looks even worse.

And seriously, *fargin'* Comeau on the first line!

Comeau on the top line is stupid. Just put Gemel Smith up there for the sake of speed. I'd rather have a fast guy who sucks up there over a slow guy who sucks.

I thought the Stars looked like *poo poo* from the first faceoff myself. Slow, out of sync, passes missing, lethargic. I think the score would have been worse with Khulehtonen in net.

Just eyeballing last years playoff teams, it looks like we need somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 goals to be a playoff contender. We’ll be just fine as long as our top 3 plus Klingberg can each have 60 goal seasons.

His response to that was directly a shot at the fans for suggesting that the team needs secondary scoring. As if the fans don't know any better. I jumped on board the fire Nill bandwagon after that comment. *f-bomb* him.

I mean, if they keep Radulov on the second line, then technically we've solved the secondary scoring problem. So there's that.

Unless putting him with inferior players means his goal scoring decreases.

He's with Nuke. What could go wrong?

Yeah, there was one moment when I think it was still 1-0 or 0-0, and Comeau single-handedly broke up our own 4-on-2 breakaway with a stupid "circling around aimlessly with the puck" move. Basically any young guy would be an improvement there.

Our second line has looked just fine now that Rads is on it and Nuke replaced Comeau.
