The Stars scored 2.72 goals per game in Lindy Ruff's final season, 2.87 for Hitch last season and are at 2.54 this season.

I'm not saying Monty is necessarily not a problem. But, this roster is a joke. Start by getting some secondary scoring and then we can talk about the coach's system.

I’d say the *poo poo* power play tells me this is more than just Monty. His system doesn’t explain why Benn, Seguin, Radulov, Klingberg, and other dude aren’t racking up PP goals like crazy. If the PP was humming, then I’d be quicker to say the five on five scoring is all on coaching.

And what if ther's no secondary scoring because of the coach's system?

We give Monty credit for icing an "AHL defense" so often, but really those guys made it through because 1-2 forwards are ALWAYS there to help them out. Naturally, if your forwards are helping out in back, they're not going to be much help up front. This is a Hitch/Tippett risk-averse system, plain and simple.

Too many confounding variables.

We had different players with Ruff so it's hard to argue either way at this point.

I don't think the coaching is responsible for the lack of talent past the top line, though.

Jordie Benn has 7 points in his last 10 games.

Jamie Benn has 4 points in his last 10 games.

Seguin responded with a nice goal scoring tear. When that dried up, so did the wins.

What happened on the 28th? I heard faint sounds of shots being fired but figured they were just backfiring Fords.

He’ll end up playing like the rest of them, like a herd of lost, over-fed, pussified, white tails.

Playing scared.

Opposing teams come in to Dallas with no fear of anything these days.

Not-so-fun fact: The Stars have had only one second line forward hit 50 points since 2012 (Patrick Sharp, 55 points in 2015-16).

Second line? Sharp was the winger on Benn and Seguin's line. What the *f-bomb* are they talking about?

I think he dropped down to the second line for that season pretty regularly.

He looked real good picking up that kid with heart problems, skating him around the rink while the youngster did the bird. Very moving and total class. He’s been an excellent addition.
