Sounds like they're filming a Mighty Ducks movie.

At this point I'd rather watch their practices than the actual games.

Stars are only above Vegas and (sheesh... ) Phoenix in terms of depth scoring. But the weird thing to me in this graph is the teams that are at the top:

Almost all the teams with depth scoring are lottery teams (or at least were considered lottery teams going in thanks to a complete lack of, among other things, an NHL top line). That's... kindof weird.

After sending Hintz down, the Stars are now calling up.... 28 year old career AHLer Justin Dowling.

Now, I'm sure Dowling is a nice guy and all, but this isn't exactly the kind of move done with any hopes of finding a goal scoring spark.

So I saw all the posts from the Stars about their Halloween party. Some good costumes for sure.

Faksa had not only a good costume, but perhaps the hottest WAG there. I know you all will be shocked that a professional athlete has a hot wife/girlfriend, but he did quite well.

Just creeped her IG. That body is 11/10, but she suffers from serious Euro face in all the pics that don't look professionally done.

Lets look at the next few segments of the schedule, shall we? Charitably, I'll mark us down for a win tomorrow. So that's 5-4-0.

Then we have a six game road trip against DET, MTL, TOR, BOS, and CBJ. At best, you're probably going 2-4 there. But I'm a homer, so I'll give us 3-3, making our record 8-7-0.

Then a four game home stand against SJ, NSH, CBJ, BOS. 1-2-1 there isn't unreasonable. 9-9-1.

Then a three game east coast trip against NYI, NYR, and PIT. 1-2-0, bringing you to a record of 10-11-1 at Thanksgiving. If several things break right.

Oh and at that point, we'll have played a grand total of three central division games. So the schedule only gets harder from there. I think this season is already over.

Per Sean Shapiro, when Johns returns this will likely be the D pairings:

Lindell-Klingberg
Heiskanen-Johns
Methot-Polak

That third pair is going to *fargin'* suck.

*If Johns returns. Monty had some comments that made his return sound a little iffy.

There are 12 teams in that top 10 list.

Its still early. If, the Stars won their next two games (Anaheim and Detroit - both winnable), they would have as many points through 10 games as Colorado and Winnipeg, who are 2nd and 3rd in the West right now with points percentages of .70 and .65 respectively. With small sample sizes, a couple of wins here or there are big.

Now the schedule after that is another issue (as Scuba pointed out)

EDIT: Oops - my math was off. Stars would be 2 points behind Colorado, 1 behind Winnipeg. But still, better than .500. (But the further problem is 4 of the 5 teams we would be behind are all Central teams). Ugh.

lol. This 6-game road trip should put the final dagger in this season just fine.

The Stars are the 10th best team in the NHL and just as good as Winnipeg. No really. They are.

Where did Janmark disappear to? He's on pace for 11 points this year. More disturbingly, he's barely noticeable out there at all unless he's skating really fast around the outside of the offensive zone to either lose the puck behind the net or throw a shitty sharp angle shot on goal.

I'm fine with that. I didn't really see Dowling create any offense besides that one game.

What’s the worst thing he can do? Not score? The team is already full of guys doing that.
