7-1-1 in the games McDavid hasn't missed with their next two games at Colorado and at Winnipeg.

Interesting article about what to expect for the in-game show for Seattle:

https://www.nhl.com/news/sunday-long-re ... =281011650

It makes me a bit sad that our in-game show is kind of meh. It's not awful, but it's pretty routine and boring.

Before this season his only other NHL experience was starting four games for the Islanders in February of 2011 when he was 22 years old.

Hitch when asked after last night's game how much he knew about him when he got the job:

"I knew a lot about him because he played for Zubie in St. Pete (KHL). When I came here Zubie called me and told me all about him."

Andrew Ference just went nuclear on Edmonton:

https://sports.yahoo.com/andrew-ference ... 13084.html

While Ference doesn’t name names or incriminate anyone, he begrudges those responsible for prioritizing partying over winning.

He said his final seasons in Edmonton were a “waste,” and time he’ll “never get back.”

I wonder how many teams party just as much yet win because they have better players?

Random observations from the NHL standings this morning:

1. Tampa at 49 points and a + 39 goal differential is pretty damn good
2. How the f*ck is Calgary on top of the West at 40 points?
3. Dallas is only 4 points behind first place in the Central (Nashville/Colorado) and 5 point behind Calgary
4. Wow, Chicago and St. Louis are bad
5. Two teams in the top 8 in the East and the West have negative goal differentials - Islanders in 8th with a -2 and Anaheim at 6th with a -13 (that level of goal differential usually gets you in the bottom 5 of your conference)

Speaking of Edmonton, Chiarelli never fails to disappoint:

https://thehockeynews.com/news/article/ ... in-2018-19

It is difficult to reconcile the fall of one-time fearsome power forward Milan Lucic. Simply put, the league got faster and he’s been left behind. Way behind. After scoring in the Oilers’ season opener, Lucic has gone goal-less in 28 straight games and counting. And this is nothing new – Lucic scored one goal in his final 46 games last season. Add it all up and that’s two goals (and 12 assists) in his past 65 games. He’s got four more years remaining on his contract after this season, at $6 million per year. That’s a lot of money for not a lot of goals.

Nill took a hard swing at Lucic that summer too if memory serves.

If I recall correctly, it was "interest" but not at anything close to the $6m per year he wrangled from Edmonton.

Probably zero. It's not the 1970s anymore.

Also, it was pretty stupid in general for the Oilers to sign Boston's 5th d-man and immediately make him captain. The only time that's actually worked was with Chara, and Chara is ... unique. Did they really expect Yakupov and Hall and those guys to listen to some Kris Russell-level player? Or that the Oilers players wouldn't feel slighted that management didn't think any of them were captain-worthy?

No, I think this avatar is more important than wins and losses.

In her defense, she’s about to get killed by a rogue tidal wave but is saved at the last moment when The Rock defeats plate tectonics by punching. So she’s supposed to look a little crazed, that’s called great acting.

Having lost Oscar Klefbom and Kris Russell to injuries in the win at Colorado, now 9-1-2 in the games McDavid hasn't missed.

Apparently the Flyers fired their coach. And then hired Quenneville.

Or maybe they didn't? Or didn't yet? Or were, but not anymore?
