So this list on The Athletic shows the top 100 players under 25 years old (at least according to the writer).
What's amazing is how many of the league's top talent falls into this category, which again highlights that the newer norm is that if a player has not made an impact by that age, there's a high chance they aren't going to (sorry Ritchie). Even a player like Janmark shouldn't be expected to evolve much beyond what he is already, which this season has so far been disappointing. It shows to me that GMs should be more aware of this and be quicker to jettison players that others might think have value but haven't made an impact on your team. This is obviously a major failing of Nill, so the future GM I hope realizes this. Basically it says don't sign players like Comeau when you have a logjam of younger players on your roster. Or if you do, then get the *f-bomb* rid of those younger players. The value on players like Ritchie and Dickinson is pretty much gone now, so they basically have to eat their salaries and waive them at this point. No one will trade for them beyond a super low draft pick at best, or swapping another prospect that sucks.
I was also amazed at some of the guys being younger than I thought because it seems like they've been around awhile.
I put this in the NHL thread, but then turned it into more of a Stars rant, but whatever.
