On a related note, it's always a good idea to write this stuff after your team has finally won one single playoff game:

Big words from such a crappy team.

You have to see this in slow motion to appreciate how great it is.

I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

I know Washington has won the last two games versus the Jackets, but let's say they lose the series. Or they lose to the Penguins in the next round. If you are the GM of that team, what the hell do you do? You've changed coaches, you've changed players, you've had great success in the regular season and been close in the playoffs, but never able to get over the hump. What do you do?

Trade Ovechkin to Dallas for Elie and a 3rd.

They are consistently among the best teams when everyone is done playing their 82 games. That gets them in the playoffs, which gives them a chance to be competitive. I don't know what you change. They're at the point where the only constant in all of this is Ovechkin, and he's producing enough points in the playoffs not to be seen as a problem.

People would blame Ovechkin anyway. Washington is perfectly capable of winning. But it's a tiny sample size (winning 4 of 7), and every bounce, good or bad, is magnified 100-fold. Only one team can win, and Washington is just unlucky in a lot of instances - a couple bounces don't go their way, and that's the series.

Yeah, I'd try to point to other teams that made huge changes and then turned into bottom dwellars. Maybe don't call them out by name, but still, we all know they exist.

It was good to see Hammond get his first playoff win. And to hear MacKinnon yell "*fargin'*' Hamburglar" at him.

Especially since about 95% of the pundits picked them to win the Cup.

What a wild ass series. The winner scored 7 5 5 5 4 and 8 goals. These were like games from the 80s.

So, Nashville restricts based on location? That's stupid. I am a Dallas Stars fan who lives 30 minutes away from the Red Wings. I'm glad the Stars don't keep me from buying tickets just because of my location.

The Leafs are never going to go deep with Andersen. He's the European Cam Talbot.

He was the main reason they made it to game 7 in my opinion.

What are the odds Vegas goes 16-0 and wins this thing? Put me down for $5.

God, Vegas is so annoying. I hope somebody finally puts them in their place before it's too late.

Vegas played a complete game from start to finish and didn't let up once they scored 4 quick goals. Dallas could learn a thing or two from them. Bonus that it was the Sharks that got run over.
