Reilly Smith has way more goals in the Finals than Jamie Benn.

They've said that in each of the finals games I believe. I'm lost on that one myself.

Tatar has been a detriment. They should have left Reaves in.

Ovechkin is awesome to watch. He’s so incredibly happy.

Yup. The antithesis to Crosby. I'll always cheer on Ovi unless it's against us.

I can’t decide who is GOAT — Ovechkin or LeBron.

Right now? Ovi's the third best guy on his team (at least in these playoffs). LeBron is the top five guys on his team.

Of course, one is a winner, while the other is a loser, so that complicates things.

I love that he loves what he does so much. His attitude is infectious, even through a TV screen. Way more likable than his counterpart over in Pittsburgh.

Even Scuba’s eye might water up a bit watching Oshie talk about his dad, who has early onset Alzheimer’s.

https://russianmachineneverbreaks.com/2 ... r-his-dad/

Don’t watch the video unless you want to cry a little bit.

“My dad, he doesn’t remember a lot of stuff these days,” Oshie said. “He remembers enough, but I’ll tell you what. He’s here tonight, I don’t know where he’s at, but this one will stick with him forever. You can guarantee that.”

Oshie, who still calls his Dad “Coach,” also got the opportunity to lift the Cup with him. An emotional moment, to top off an even more emotional night.

Yeah, I saw a little bit about that. Definitely a great story.

Magary has a great article on Deadspin today about wandering through the drunken crowd on the streets of DC last night as a neutral observer. The pure joy of a long-frustrated and not overly obnoxious fan base is something any sports fan can appreciate.

I cry every year, regardless. But that was an especially touching interview.

No. Pittsburgh is tiny. Great sports town, though.

Also I think the DC metro area is pretty sprawling.

But that corridor has a lot of displaced Philly, NY fans too.

DC is kinda weird though. Most people just work there and then live in Virginia or Maryland, so there’s all kinds of competition and distraction for the sports fan. Plus it’s populace is more transient than most other places.

Ovechkin is clearly the greatest Russian-born player to ever play in the NHL. That got me to thinking, who is second? My first thought is Zubov.
