I think you're being unrealistically optimistic.

No need to celebrate Benn's last home game as a Star. We can celebrate after he's traded.

So the Stars keep scratching younger players, while the Wild are giving a shot to a prospect (Greenway) they just signed this week a shot on the top line.
Team has been terrible since Methot returned (no shock, another horrible passing defenseman), so he gets rewarded with more ice time moving up to play with Klingberg. The team's worst pairing for months Hamhuis-Pateryn remains unchanged, which is fine helps them lose.

Stars now 4-0-0 when Honka gets more than 16 and a half minutes.

Great game all around.

Ritchie was actually very good. His forecheck was very effective.

Radulov played a terrible game. He was out there playing hero ball by trying to stick handle through multiple opponents, by taking shots from bad spots, and by taking yet another stupid penalty. He was playing like it was him against the Wild, and all he did was turn it over repeatedly. It was a very strange game from him.

In the post game, Radulov also said something about how he knew they were already out of the playoffs - which while true, players don't usually admit until it's a mathematical certainty they're out, whereas they are still technically in the race. Just something I noticed....

Radulov takes a lot of "mental" penalties. I guess it's just part of his game.

Roussel's pre-game interview was telling too.

He wasn't sure what to say in regards to what the motivation was for continuing to try.

I was thinking the millions of dollars they make to play a *fargin'* game is a pretty good motivation. But, I don't make millions of dollars. Maybe that's not enough...lol
