Isn't that just Nill trying to cling to Nichushkin being a good pick more than Shore being worth that much? Because if that's the price for Shore, no thanks. I don't even really want him on the team at all.

Shore is good depth if he is cheap. If not, buh bye.

I would guess about 90% of these "leaks" are Ottawa trying to drive up the price.

Probably from Dorion, as Ottawa has a very thin front office. Same GM who has cried to the media that GM's were trying to rip him off.

Nobody is trying to rip him off here. He is in a shitty situation and nobody is obligated to help him out of it because they have their own teams to worry about.

If Ottawa thinks it has any leverage at all, it is sorely mistaking.

Blolz.

Welp. At least us and Tampa fans can finally jerk off now.

Thanks, Dorion.

Ottawa is going to lose this fight. They have nothing. Whether he comes to Dallas or not, they are not going to get the farm in return for a player that they can't keep anyway.

Dorion should call Bob Gainey and ask him what to do.

Their next move is to give us Karlsson for Honka and a reach around.

Karlsson is holding the all cards here. Sens can’t get the haul they want if he doesn’t agree to an extension with another team, so the prospective teams have the upper hand.

Sens are fucked if these are really the only three teams in it. Dallas and Tampa already have 60 point d-men, and Vegas just went to the Finals with *fargin'* Nate Schmidt as their #1.

Ottawa needs a Glen Sather GM to throw them nine firsts and three prospects: kinda surprised Bergevin has stayed out of it.

As much as it would be awesome, we still need an entire second line.

Spezza will bounce back with a non-Hitch coach. Trust me.

They are fucked. You’re right. This is an ongoing problem for them. They didn’t get offers they liked at the deadline. They didn’t get offers they liked at the draft. They didn’t get offers they liked prior to free agency.

Now, they are still trying to trade him at a time when most teams have their cap/budget money spent and rosters largely set. There aren’t a lot of teams with $6.5 million laying around to spend right now.

The Sens are holding out and finding a smaller number of possible bidders, and those bidders knowing there is no way the Sens have to trade him with offers only going to go down if this carries on into the season.

No idea if true, but rumors are the Ottawa owner rejected the trade because Ryan's contract wasn't also being moved.

It reminds me of those stupid people on Hardcore Pawn who would argue with them and the store would actually lower the amount they were willing to give them because of it.

The Sens better cut their losses and take Honka while we're offering him. lol

LOL everything is going to rely on Methot’s wedding this weekend, which is hilarious, because I’m told that marriage is like putting your hand into a bag of snakes in the hope of pulling out an eel. I’m gonna go chirp Methot on IG to include “Erik, come to Dallas” in his vows.

EDIT: And done.

I'm sure Methot's already been in his ear about it. The Stars might actually still be the frontrunner, unbeknownst to all of us.

I thought it was pretty stupid of them to trade Karlsson to the Lightning. He's probably going to either us or the Knights. I would guess the Knights based on the Ryan thing. But, who knows....
