I don't really care what Nill says. He's just going to give a bunch of hand-wavy, tow the line, non-answers like he always does.

Not much revealed because that’s how Nill is.
-Nill is going to do exit interviews with the players to get their perspective about why things fell apart.
-Didn’t give an especially ringing endorsement of Hitch, but also wasn’t overtly critical.
-Said he talks to Gaglardi daily, but interestingly, Nill uses “they” when talking about ownership. Don’t know who all he means by they.
-Calls Heiskanen a franchise-changing player.
-Doesn’t sound like he has any sort of commitment from Nichushkin.
-Thinks Honka will be a better player thanks to not playing all season.

Has a couple quotes.

On Hitchcock
He has a contract that allows him to be "promoted" to an advisor's position at any time. Should the team consider that after just one season?

Something they need to do
Can this team live with the mistakes of young players while trying to win now? It's something they haven't balanced in the past while churning through 19 different defensemen in Nill's five years at the helm.

I don't think Hitch should be anywhere near this team going forward.

Bob McKenzie said Spezza could get bought out.

Don't know if the Stars would be interested but a European option for a backup to Bishop. Had the best save percentage in the KHL the past two seasons.

Hitch seems well-suited for an advisory role, like the Ambassador of Fun.

I'm OK with not buying out Spezza if Hitchcock doesn't come back. I think Spezza is declining, but I don't think it was all due to age this season. Hitchcock decided that he was going to put Spezza into a role that Spezza was in no way suited for, and be damned if he would change his mind.

On the flip side, Spezza did look terrible at generating anything. His patented Spin and Throw It Hard As *f-bomb* Through the Middle of the Ice oddly didn't work out at all this season.

And his attempts at picking the corners weren't hitting their spot like they did a couple of seasons ago and were little more than turnovers.

It's a question of whether Spezza is "done" or whether it's a back injury that made him suck all season long. Or maybe they're one in the same.

Either way, I'd but him out to free up some of that Tavares ca$$h.

He will be able to pick out any seat he likes in the press box.

Hitchcock is on a long-term contract with the Stars, but the coaching part of that contract is to be explored after each season. Should the Stars believe there is a better option out there to coach the team, Hitchcock can be promoted to an advisor's position.

He simply did not seem to want to trust the younger players and painted himself into a corner with big minutes for the pairing of Dan Hamhuis and Greg Pateryn, which seemed to fade at the end of the season.

If they do replace Hitchcock the next worst thing is to bring in Vigneault.

I am so sick of listening to Jim Nill speak. It's literally just one cliched platitude after the other.

I never noticed him.

He was always an odd fit with the Stars. He isn't a beat writer kind of guy. He should be doing bigger stories.

I think he jumped at the first job to come along, and I think the Stars were expecting to be super awesome this season and loved the idea of having a name hockey media guy on board to help tell the story of their Cup run.

His writing was too flowery and emotional. And if I read "vis a vis" one more time I was gonna flip. He had some decent stuff from time to time, but overall, meh.

Funnily, his last article was pretty good. He hit on all of the issues the Stars face, fairly accurately.
