Nichushkin is one of several Russians notified today they are not allowed to participate in the Winter Olympics. It remains to be seen if this is doping related or if there was some other reason.

I read that was intentional. Since their roster was thrown together last minute, they wanted to see if getting guys who have played together would help them avoid the mess you can get when guys take the ice with no chemistry.

The IOC banned him, but I haven’t seen anything that makes me think Team Russia was going to give him a roster spot.

I could've told them it was a mistake to have Lindy Ruff coach Team USA:

After jumping out to a 2-0 lead, USA gave up two third period goals -- including a late equalizer -- and allowed Slovenia to force overtime. Then, the Americans surrendered the game-winner less than a minute into OT and were handed a shocking 3-2 loss.

Someone should also check the long-form birth certificate of the US goalie, Kari Americanman.

Watched the games. He had little to no chance on any of Slovenia's 3 goals. Team played like crap in front of him - particularly in the OT. 2 players went to one guy, leaving the back door wide open.
