What probably annoyed him the most is praising the work by the whole lineup to contribute goals after the prior game and then to go to this one where the sole goal (and even waved goal) came from Radulov. They reverted right back to what he didn’t want them to be.

I had to leave before the third period started, but in the first two, I saw nothing from lines 2-4 in the offensive zone. Even Spezza very quickly returned to the guy we’ve seen all season.

Yeah. Of course, Spezza is getting old. Maybe he just isn't capable of putting that effort in every night like he used to.

That can be understandable. But it's not okay if his good efforts happen once a month like they pretty much have so far this season. If he just needs more rest then maybe he should have some built in healthy scratches.

Maybe he needs a change of scenery. Spezza and Honka for Tavares.

Father Time always wins. This year, Spezza is succumbing. Not his fault whatsoever, and I see a buyout coming as nobody will take the 7.5mm he’s owed next year.

As much as we lauded Nill for getting Spezza to sign a short extension, but the problem with a short extension is the cap hit ends up matching the salary. Spezza isn't even a good fit on a cheap team chasing the cap floor because those teams always want the guy with the high cap number but a much lower salary cost. The end result is an expensive declining guy who isn't even a viable salary dump trade piece.

I hope the cap goes up next season. That'll be needed to absorb eating Niemi's $1.5 million and Spezza's $3.5 million. That's $5 million of dead cap money next year if a buyout happens.

It’s a small problem compared to what’s coming though..that Benn contract is going to look like Deep Ellum street puke in max-4 years.

If they didn't buy out Kari after last year, they're not buying out Spezza.

He's got a really goofy laugh so we could always shelve him with a made up nitrous oxide addiction.

That Hanzal's so hurt right now.

He could add 5% to his face off wins if he fired that off right before the puck drop.
