That's why I'm glad I got into U of M and didn't have to go to Wayne State.

Bishop and Spezza are back in. In addition to using the healthy scratch to send a message to Spezza, Hitch sent a message to Bishop by saying he sees Kari also as a starter who is going to see more starts.

Hitch also made it sound like Heatherington will take Honka's place tonight.

Outside of W/L, Bishop and Kari have almost identical SV% and GAA for this season. I think Bishop has been an improvement, but it also kinda reinforces that notion we all had about Kari and not playing well under pressure. Now that the pressure's off, he's average.

My real fear is Hitch falling for Kari's siren song.

Our team save percentage is up 16 points over last season, which is pretty significant.

Don't worry. As soon as the pressure gets turned up, Kari gonna Kari.

From Burnside's Blurb:

There is a chance that the 22-year-old Heatherington will get his first-ever NHL game action in Detroit. Ideally, he'd have at least one more practice with the team, and Hitchcock has promised that Heatherington -- a former Columbus prospect selected 50th overall in 2013 -- will play on this four-game road trip that includes stops in Columbus on Thursday and Buffalo on Saturday afternoon.
But Hitchcock said one of his defenders is nicked up, so Heatherington's debut might be accelerated to tonight.

Anyway, let's not look past Detroit. Nill, I'm sure would love a win.

This is why I am fine keeping Kari as a backup for a while longer. This would give us average goaltending most nights which is all you need these days.

Heatherington has been solid in the AHL. Hopefully he scores a hat trick against the team that abandoned him.

Hat tricks in the first NHL game do not bode well for prospects. lol

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a goalie drift mostly behind the goal line and turn to the boards to square up to the guy with the puck.

This game is being played at like half the speed and intensity of yesterday’s game.

Todd Bertuzzi's nephew and Pierre Turgeon's son both play for the Wings.

Speak for yourself. I have had youth rejuvenation surgery.

And Bishop with another weak goal.
