Ben Bishop starts.
Johns is expected to be back in the lineup. No word yet on who sits.
Hanzal won't play (not that you'd notice either way).
Dickinson was called up and will play.

Connor Hellebuyck has been playing lights out and has all 6 of their wins.
God I hope we face Mason.

Today's pregame fun fact: Laine has played the Stars five times in his short career. In those five games, he's scored 8 goals and 12 points. You can take any two other teams he's played, add his scoring against them together, and he's still scored more points against the Stars.

Ritchie is out tonight with about injury. In other words, his stat line will look the same as any other game.

I was thinking tonight is the night, Devin Shore scores his first goal of the season.

The Jets are controlling play so far.

Seems like they have no trouble at all setting up in our zone. Really good puck movement.

So what was the reason for not trading for Myers a few years ago? Was it because we already had a tall defenseman?

Advanced stats didn’t like how he played on a terrible team.

I think we should try to hold WPG to only 2 goals next period. It’s important to show improvement.

Dickinson looks like an improvement over Ritchie. Faster, handles the puck better.

Good maintenance fight from Benn. Does Jamie only fight black guys? I seem to remember him fighting Iginla more than once.

So basically Hanzal is the difference between a 90% PK and a 33% PK.

Helps when Hanzal wins 90% of his face offs.

They might have the most explosive talent in the entire division.... yet they can't make the playoffs. It's weird.

The Jets used to be super fast and super physical but also completely stupid. This game was the first of theirs I watched, and they were still fast and physical but physicality under control.

Of course, it helped the refs last night weren't interested in calling anything. There were some obvious penalties missed against both teams, and these Stars can't win if they can't get on the PP.

I doubt it lasts. They're good, but they're not THAT good. They'll make the playoffs for sure, but I doubt they are contenders.

Which is no different from last season, where the Stars plummeted scoring wise 5 on 5, this year it has gotten even worse.
It's not a shock, that the team is now losing the possession battle pretty much every single game since Honka was removed from the lineup. Replaced by Pateryn 37.6% Corsi , Oleksiak 44.8% Corsi, where as Honka was at 59.5% Corsi.

The team has lots of issues 5 on 5, the first one would be to fix the team's inability to move the puck out of it's own zone from recent games, scratching Pateryn will help that out.
Getting back to generating more shots, crashing the net and making it difficult for the other team's goalies to see the puck.
