This group has already proven they are more than capable of losing to Ottawa, and then the next two games are Winnipeg and Washington. We may be able to schedule the funeral before they even get back from this road trip.

Stars always pick up points against Washington, that'll be the game which gives them false hope.

The rule is that way because it is written to say skate on the ice. I think it was written that was to make it easier to call back before we had HD super slo mo. The linesman would watch down the blue line with his eyes looking st the ice.

Why do you have to have both feet touching the ground for a catch to be complete in the NFL but the ball just has to cross the plane of the goal line to count as a TD?

I don't get why people are so bent out of shape over this rule over the last few years. It's how the rule has always been. I get that offsides challenges are a bog down, but ever since they added the penalty for incorrect offsides challenges, I've hardly seen any offside challenges this year.

The penalty thing is stupid. If you don't want offsides challenges, then just eliminate them and only allow goalie interference challenges.

Yeah, the challenge has just added more scrutiny to the rule. I'm fine with it as it was if we just take away the challenge.

Otherwise I'm agreeing with the question since the puck can be 6 ft in the air yet they're also supposed to see where everyone's skates are at the same time. Which means calls will be missed, and I'm fine with that.

I thought the challenge was stupid for three reasons.

- The bog down.
- It was solving something no one complained about.
- It is odd to say we don’t care if offsides is called correctly most of the time but do care only if a goal is scored.

Interesting:

There hasn’t been a single in-season NHL head coaching change this year for the first time since 1966-67.

So everyone is giving Tom Dundon the "Velvet Finger" and respectfully withdrawing themselves from consideration for the Hurricanes GM job. LOL it's very clear that no self respecting hockey mind wants to be a figurehead for that penis. Good luck making deals with other GM's around the league, Tom.

The amount of food that guy must eat to remain obese despite playing professional hockey must be astronomical.

I guess running a hockey team is a little harder than charging poor people 29 percent interest on their car loans.

On the plus side, maybe we'll finally see a GM take a run on another team's RFA?

Very shitty indeed.

Just a few bright side/insensitive points though for the sake of conversation:

1) Although terrible, still slightly (and only slightly) better than if he had already been born, like Jordan Staal's daughter. Him and his second fake IG model wife (I prefered his first one) still have a lot of time to keep on trying though. Unless this is an indicator that she can't safely have children, which would then almost certainly split them up and he'd be on to wife number 3.
2) Looks like if we had traded for him he wouldn't be playing now anyways ...
3) Him and his wife will probably want a change of scenery now (Steven).

Luongo is the best. I hope the day after he retires, he and Paul Bissonnette become a broadcasting duo.

"Plant-based" diets are woo. Humans evolved to eat both meat and plants.

Chicago had to go to their emergency backup goalie. He is a 36 year old accountant with no pro experience who played some college hockey 15 years ago. He played 14+ minutes and surrendered no goals. He even made a save on Laine, which I've never seen a Stars goalie do that.

That's great. It's what everyone wants to happen when they hear the emergency backup is dressed.
