It was the same for forwards, at least point-wise. It tilts lower when I remove the minimum games and points thresholds, I presume because of the large number of fringe players that wash out at a young age.

So we can go ahead and trade Ritchie then? He doesn't impress me at all.

Ritchie reminds me of all the big and slow players we used to fill out the roster during the peskyStars era. Like Brad Winchester or Brian Sutherby.

Will somebody in the central please lose a damn game? This is getting ridiculous.

That’s an impossible question to answer, but I’ll guess at ages 25 thru 36.

He looks exactly like Tomas Vincour to me.

St. Louis just got pounded by the Coyotes 5-2. Chicago lost to the Isles 7-3.

But yeah, other than that everyone keeps *fargin'* winning. I think the Avs are up to 9 straight wins.

EDIT: Yep, 9 straight for Colorado, who just knocked out the Kings for the final playoff spot.

Still a lot of season to go but at this point, Klingberg should seriously be considered for Norris. His defense has been awesome and he’s not getting creamed. He just pokes his stick in and comes out with the puck. He almost never loses. Plus his visionary offense.

We’re allowed to make mistakes. When you allow mistakes to happen, less mistakes happen,” Johns said. “You don’t worry about making mistakes, and when you make a mistake, you’re not worried about going to the bench and having [a coach] screaming and hollering at you. He’s just letting you know what you need to do better. When you’re allowed to make mistakes, you have a different feeling, where you just have that feeling you can make plays.

So I wonder if Brian Boyle and Klingberg hung out a lot at the All-Star weekend.

Heard that the Dallas Stars signed Joe McDonnell, who runs their drafts, to a contract extension. McDonnell ran the show for Detroit before joining Jim Nill in Texas.

So if this team misses the playoffs again, are we still going to get a lot of talk about how much they've improved?

To clarify, the Stars last season finished three places out of a wild card spot with 79 total points. The Stars today are sitting in the first wild card spot. If you take their current points per game and stretch it out to 82 games, they'd finish with 96 points. Last season, 96 points would have put them in the first wild card spot.

Food for thought, our 60 points in 51 games would have us sitting in 4th place for the entire Eastern Conference (1 point behind the Leafs for 3rd with as many games played).

If we do miss the playoffs, the question is what changes should be made? I'm at a loss there.

Yeah. That would be missing the playoffs three of five years for Nill and company.

It would also mean only one playoff series win in five seasons.
