I wouldn't mind seeing Honka as a winger for a test run. Hitch did it with Sydor and even that loser scored a hattrick while doing it.

Here is Cracknell's replacement. They went with a speedy checker.

I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

I missed what we did to Lobo.

It's early, and they haven't been putting up Ovechkin-level goal scoring (yet) (tho they've scored a PP goal in all five games so far), but in terms of generating offense on the powerplay, well:

What does that mean? That Klingberg is getting wrist shots through from the point where Robidas used to punish shin pads and glass?

Bishop will start again Thursday, but Oleksiak goes in for Honka.

Stars mailbag

The coaching staff, who happens to make these decisions, is still figuring out what to do.

Ken Hitchcock discussed Honka on Thursday morning.

“We like a lot of the stuff that’s going on and we set the schedule for him,” Hitchcock said. “When we think it’s time to go back in, he’ll be in on a regular basis. He’s not going to be out for very long. It’s not based on play, but we feel like we don’t want to lose any of these young guys.”

Essentially it’s not a top-six defense like Hitchcock stated it would be at the start of the season. It’s a top-seven and the Stars are rotating until something works itself out.

https://www.nhl.com/stars/news/brenden-morrow-reflects-on-time-with-stars-and-what-may-be-ahead/c-292112410

"Well, like you said, it is an honor. And Mike handled it incredibly. We had a great relationship. We worked out in the summertime together, and Mike was great about it and total class. But it wasn't how you'd envisioned it. You don't want to have it taken from somebody that you love and respect, and have it given to you. I think the move was going to be done whether I accepted it or not. I think Doug (Armstrong, the team's GM) wanted to go a different direction and have different leadership. So it wasn't a smooth transition, but for me, it was a great honor and Mike was the first person to congratulate me and tell me if I needed any help that he was there for me. He made things a lot easier than they may have been being the face of the franchise. He was very accepting of it with me. Not so much with management, but he was very accepting with me."

Also a good one,

SB: Do you have a favorite Hitchcock memory?

BM: "One of the first things that probably helped me. I came off what I thought was a really good rookie season (33 points in 64 games). I had my year-end meeting with Hitch and was expecting almost a thank you from him. And I left the meeting and it was basically go home, work hard and we'll see if we can find a spot for you next year. And I was like, 'Holy (crap).' So that's how things are going to be. You know what? It scared me. I went home, and I worked hard and the rest is history and I had my place on the team. But it showed me you're only as good as your last game and work hard and be a pro and don't expect anything from me because of your year, this year. You've got to go home and work hard."

As much as I have soured on Nichushkin, trading him for Nash is silly.

Radulov is here at the Allen Americans game this afternoon.

So are about 1,200 other people... Not smart to go up against a Cowboys game.

It's been a while since we had a scheduled loss. I guess we are due.
