Doughty
“I’d love to re-sign in L.A. But if our team isn’t going in the right direction… I want to win Cups. I don’t give a s— where I play. I just want to win Cups, and that’s the bottom line.”

But it seems the memories of that successful near-decade run might not be enough to keep Doughty in California once unrestricted free agency rolls around in 2019.

Erik Karlsson might not be ready to play until November.

Looks like the NHL has no real interest in reducing the size of goalie equipment. This is pretty stupid.

Is this REALLY that hard? What is their motive for delaying on this?

It's collusion by the players. They did it last year (or was it the year before) too with the smaller leg pads. It's a *poo poo* excuse that apparently the NHL is fine hearing.

All I can guess is the league isn't interested in a fight with the PA over this, so this plan has nothing set in stone. If the league isn't going to require it, why would manufacturers redo their stuff? They don't make money off the pros, so why make smaller gear the rec league people won't want to buy?

The PA is annoying. I know it's important to have. But, the fact that they are able to delay positive changes to the game gets on my nerves.

The NHL is equally to blame. The problem is neither side wants to make this a priority because doing so would mean giving ground on economic issues.

Brian Boyle has leukemia! The same kind Jason Blake had.

I love him. He's a trooper, wants to get treatment and be ready for the season opener. Even though it's a very treatable cancer, that's pretty ambitious.

Vegas is just saying what I have secretly thought for years. That pretty much every cup win before the expansion was a joke.

And even in the 70's there were only 14 teams ...

Guess who stopped being a dynasty once the 80's hit?

I know it's only the pre-season but the Habs have lost all 4 of their games and have been outscored 16 to 6 LOL.
Drouin should have had those 11 goals!

https://www.thebeaverton.com/2017/09/ci ... ary-place/

After more than two years of failed negotiations between the city of Calgary and the Calgary Sport and Entertainment Corporation (CSEC) over funding of a new arena for the Calgary Flames, the city of Edmonton has stepped in and offered to foot the bill, provided they get to name it Eat *poo poo* Calgary Place.

“We’d be happy to step in and help out our provincial brethren”, said Edmonton mayor Don Iveson, “The only small consideration we ask is that the name of the arena be ‘Eat *poo poo* Calgary Place.’ And that the ‘Eat *poo poo* Calgary Place’ name be prominently displayed on all arena signage and painted over centre ice.”

“I think it’s the right move for Edmonton”, Iveson said in a press conference Thursday, “It’s another way Edmonton can invest in its greatest asset: Connor McDavid. I mean if he’s going to spend the next 7 years lighting Calgary up, we need to make sure that that is taking place in a proper arena, and not a *poo poo* box like the Saddledome — it’s the Tropicana Field of hockey arenas!”
