Lehtonen, Niemi, and Eakin for Kovalchuk and Schneider sounds about right.

Will he get a big return? He's 34 and was pretty crappy his last season in the NHL. He put up some good numbers in the KHL, but is he as fast as he was? I have no idea what it would take to get him.

Yeah, I guess I'm guilty of still thinking of him as an elite player. Prolly because he chose to leave for Europe instead of just ending up there after no team showed interest. He's still a name though, so he'll get an okay return. Maybe he ends up playing with Ovechkin?

I know. My bias is there with him as well. I asked the questions because I have no idea. I still only remember him as an awesome player.
You know, the greatest scorer in Winnipeg Jets history.

I remember him being an amazing scorer with little to no defense. The perfect modern day Dallas Star. He did actually look good during at least one New Jersey stint, though, so perhaps it was the Atlanta effect. And having Lehtonen behind him.

It's not out of the question to think that he could pull a Jagr/Radulov, especially if he's hungry, so I think he will.
Sure why not. Let's acquire him.

Islanders goalie Thomas Greiss has apologized for ‘liking’ several Instagram posts comparing Hillary Clinton to Adolf Hitler, Newsday reported.

“I apologize for interacting with several posts that appeared in my timeline, which were wrong to engage with,” Greiss said in a statement issued by the team. “ ‘Liking’ these posts was a mistake, and I sincerely apologize again.”

Greiss’ decision to hit the heart icon on certain Instagram posts did not sit well with some fans, German sports executives or the Islanders, although it appears Greiss will not be disciplined by either the Islanders or Team Germany, for whom he is playing at the IIHF world championships.

Not only is the NHL not participating in the 2018 Olympics, it is banning players from going on their own. Also, no 2020 World Cup.

While I love the Olympic games with NHLers, I understand the NHL's reluctance. World Cup didn't help a lot of teams this season.

They'll be a lawsuit from the PA over an attempt to ban players from going, I bet.

I just don't understand going. Games that happen during the offseason are no big deal to me. But, the ones during the season directly interfere with the NHL's product.

It isn't that I don't enjoy watching them play in the olympics. Those are some great games. But, I care more about the Dallas Stars than Team USA.

I actively root against Team USA unless they are playing Canada. You expect me to root for Ryan Kesler and Fat Phil?
