The Vanucks are taking the Stars route and going full retread, only they are pining for an era where no championships were won ...

TSN wrote: A couple of familiar faces will be joining Vancouver Canucks head coach Travis Green for his first season behind an NHL bench.

The club announced Wednesday it has added Newell Brown and Nolan Baumgartner to fold as assistants, joining Doug Jarvis and Manny Malhotra.

The Canucks had previously said both Jarvis and goaltending coach Dan Cloutier would remain in their jobs after Vancouver fired head coach Willie Desjardins in April following a second consecutive season near the bottom of the standings.

Interesting study here, noting that the median age of viewers of almost all sports is rising faster than the age of the population in general. However, the age of the average NHL viewer is now 49, and is rising faster than any of the other sports.

Apparently Fleury waived his NMC back in February for the expansion draft.

Bishop for Fleury? He's a 3 time Cup winner, after all. Bishop hardly has any Cups.

Sens ask Phaneuf to waive his NT clause.

Fleury waived his NT clause. He's been a trooper. He was the best thing about Pittsburgh winning the Cup this year.

“I do think Montreal will try and trade Galchenyuk,” answered Friedman. “I do. I think it’s likely he’s going to go.”

Looks like Tampa Bay is trading Jonathan Drouin to the Habs for a 1st round pick and Alex Galchenyuk.

Montreal will do anything to add guys born in Quebec.

They sold 1.6 million of those things, and I never heard of it. Probably says a lot about their quality that none were on the road by the time I started driving.

It was before your time. The great thing about the citation and all of it's other incarnations was it being a front wheel drive car. That was so awesome for those of us in the snowy areas.

One might even consider that to be hall of fame worthy.

Interestingly, a few team HAVE to sign or trade for a goalie by Saturday morning in order to be compliant with NHL rules regarding exposed players for the expansion draft. Maybe Nill can pawn off Niemi to one of them.

Sergachev was picked #9 overall by the Habs last year. Gotta think Montreal is doing this to keep Price happy to try to make the team better around him.

Why did Tampa trade Drouin? Are they still butt-hurt over him not reporting to the minors?
