Seguin's career high for points is 84 in 80 games his first season in Dallas and his career high for points per game was 77 in 71 games the next season which would translate to 89 in a full 82-game season.

Well, if Seguin can't be our 98 point guy then maybe we should trade him for someone who can.

I made up numbers. Fine. From 89 to 81 points. Is that better?

Either way, Seguin still put up better numbers than Modano ever did. The point is about trading some of that production for a more complete game.

Using advanced stats, I have been able to compute that each successful backcheck is worth .0007182 points.

My head is still not completely wrapped around this situation. It's not that I don't like Hitchcock or think he's a bad coach, but it's so, predictable, same old, boring. And I know defense wins hockey games!

Did you get a chance to listen to his presser?

He's going to be focused heavily on expanding the ratio between goals scored vs. goals given up.

Yes. But, rest assured that this will not distract him from continuing to expand his waistline.

Good. I like my Hitch like I like my women. Chubby and focused entirely on hockey.

Well, we'll see. I do think he will help our defensemen. But I'm already worn out after 30+ minutes of press conference.

That's the idea. Wear out the other side. And then you can score. My motto in life, basically.

After the press conference I am feeling better about Hitch. We'll see how it all translates over the course of a season.

I think for next season to really go well we also need to schedule 4 or 5 hip surgeries for key players in the offseason.

There is something to be said for winning and hip surgeries. How many hip surgeries did the Sharks key players have two offseasons ago? How ever many it was, it wasn't as many as the Penguins.

The Red Wings are so cool they were having surgeries back before they were even hip.

Hitch will be doing a Dr. Pepper Twitter Q&A today.
