How is Defenseman Lessard on the penalty kill?

Asking for a friend.

Can we refer to this as the Bay-watch?

Do we even need this guy? We've already got Pateryn, so I think our defense is set.

You can never have too many players with potential.

Especially since the team seems to have drained whatever potential the current group of young d-men had.

Razor describes the defense as "a stable of talented rearguards." In a game where those guys have made it easy for the Oilers.

So Razor said we've won the Baywatch sweepstakes.

Hopefully he finishes the season in the AHL so Ruff and crew don't taint him like they do all other young d-men.

Did someone say taint?

That's what happens when there's no defensive system and the fact the majority of the team has quit.

I mean, Ruff's been coaching 19 years, had Hasek and Ryan Miller in his prime, and still managed to develop all of one good d-man - Brian Campbell- and even his best years came under Quenneville.

I'm starting to think that maybe Ruff just doesn't have what it takes to coach a team to the Stanley Cup.

He almost did. Then Brett Hull cheated him out of it.

The thing Sabres fans never mention about that is that before Hull's goal, we spent roughly ten straight minutes peppering Hasek with shots. Buffalo had nothing, and it took everything they had just to ice the puck. Jere in particular was a beast, playing with as much zip as he did on the opening shift. I mean, sure, maybe a fluke goal happens, but it woudl've had to have been from about 180 feet away.

In short: *f-bomb* you, Buffalo fans.

Could you imagine if Glass Fatso was our goalie back then? I wonder how great our defense would have looked with him back there instead lol.

The Stars are adding an offensive-minded defenseman with a heavy shot and reminds Morris of Kings defenseman Alec Martinez.

He’s not as proficient defensively yet, but he’ll get there,” Morris said. “The pro game is a much more controlled game, while the college game is a lot of chip and chase. A real fast pace and not as controlled. That eliminates some chances to make plays. I think when he’s with other skilled players it will accentuate his abilities and he’ll be able to play off other players well.”

“He’s improving his defensive awareness, and he’s becoming more and more proficient in that regard,” Morris said. “He’s gotten better at reading situations, and he’ll do well with the coaches they have in Texas find the fit for his game.”

So we added a guy who scored a point-per-game in college, led his team in scoring as a defenseman, and plays the left side.

Good job... Nill?

Don't worry. He'll be deflecting pucks into his own net soon enough.

So in his first-ever game in the AHL, Bayreuther scores his first goal and the team snaps a four-game losing streak with a shutout.

I'm thinking seven straight Norris trophies is not out of the question.
