The magic beans factor of this conditional pick does not make up for a higher placed 2nd rounder because everyone and their *fargin'* dog knows that's what it's going to end up being anyways.

Here's some more detail on the pick. It might wind up several spots better than first expected.

Oh I read it. It *fargin'* won't, Troy.

I accept that that's the standard for it, so why not pick the best one from the bunch?
Again, unless Nill is trading *poo poo* away up until the deadline, I don't like the timing of this deal.
Expect a whole lot of nothing over the next 5 days.

The thing is this all around sucks. Some fans cheer for tanking and selling at the deadline, but this doesn't make me feel any better about the season or the team. The team is still *poo poo* and the magic beans added over the next week won't in any way help the team be better next season. This doesn't give me an ounce of hope. All it does is cement how awful this season has been.

I don't think it's bad bad return at all. There's a reason Eaves only got a 1 year, $1 million deal last summer. I hope he helps the Ducks get to the Conf. Finals, then Tkachuks with us in July.

Now, if Eaves can fetch a conditional 1/2, then Hudler should be worth three 1sts, right?

Troy and I are too unzipped at the moment to joke about this bullshit.

This franchise has just done nothing but screw *poo poo* up since Bob Gainey stopped being the GM. That's a long time yo.

The management of this team is even worse then I thought. I'm actually starting to think it's a big scam. Mill and Mindy ruff both need to go. Its not how can this team get better, its how can this team get worse.

On the bright side a lot of the issues with the team are coaching related. If they bring in the right coach, they will improve dramatically defensively next season and on special teams.

Gulutzan's first season they had one of the worst powerplays in NHL history.

Ruff's final season they had one of the worst penalty kills in NHL history. Powerplay units that give up a lot of short handed goals. Stars have been one of the best 5 on 5 teams in the league under Ruff, despite that the team's defensive zone coverage is a joke. Elite at choking leads.
There's no reason why this team should be where they are.

It's wishful thinking for sure, but the last three coaches have overseen some ugly teams. Ruff's teams will have only made the playoffs twice in four years, with this team finishing worse than any of those after Hicks went broke and we were being sold spares like Tomas Vincour as big additions to the team.

It's a tough situation, as there's probably not going to be a great option out there for a coach. The team's biggest issues are special teams and the defensive zone, it's not on all the players the Stars have. Since the focus should be on developing defenseman they have, so the Stars can become great, it's probably best to go after someone that route.

A 2nd for Eaves was pretty good. Maybe we can get another 2nd for Sharp and Oduya as well. Or a decent goalie prospect would be nice.

I believe this will be their first sub-.500 season since 1996.

Yep. They came close in 2012-2013 at 22-22-4 and in 08-09 at 36-35-11. But, this will be the worst since 95-96. Yikes.

Yep. This season is on pace to be the worst finish in franchise history.

They should be fine, as long as they continue to whup up on all the teams below them in the standings.

This a lot for a very injury prone player that is a free agent after the season.

I'm not exactly sure what Minny is expecting from two months of Hanzal.

I don't get why everyone loves Evander Kane so much. He's only had like 2 twenty goal seasons right?

EDIT: Oh. He had one 30 goal campaign. Still..I don't get the fascination.
