I mean this with all due respect, but I am surprised the guy is still alive. I can't believe he hasn't had a heart attack yet. Especially with the stress of a coaching job.

Nill hiring a failed re-tread would pretty much send a signal to Gags to start looking for a new GM.

Bob Sturm certainly is hinting the Hitch hiring is a done deal with his cutesy dancing around it for several days. My guess is someone in the organization told him so.

Hiring Hitch? Wait, I thought the goal was to increase the number of people interested next season.

It would sell tons of tickets. Remember, for most Stars fans, Hitchcock is one of the only coaches they can name.

Hitch vs. our goaltending and (lack of) defensive mindset would be an amazing struggle to watch.

Yeah, I love Hitchcock, but that train left the station. If we're gonna re-tread, and I'm not advocating that, Tippett would be a better coach to preach defense first.

Can we move on to a different candidate? I'm running out of fat jokes. Bazzer, can you tag in?

This would solve most of the team's issues and probably of all coaches would make the biggest impact for next season, even if they bring in no new players.

With any luck, Hitch will be able to neuter Seguin into a 50 point/year "two-way" center.

Yes. We must stop Benn and Seguin from destroying the golden primodano's records. Hitch is just the man to do that.

Hitchcock/Modano return together to.....do what exactly? If the goal is to increase exposure via Hardline segments, then OK, I guess. But there's no way that Nill, purported to be a patient, calculating GM with his eye on the future as much as the present can see this as a solution. Like, come on here.

Let's not forget that when Hitch was fired by the Blues, they had allowed all of like four fewer goals than we had at that point. With 4 #1 d-men on the roster.

Hitch coming back would sell a lot of tickets because everyone loves big ol' Texas titties.

Razor said he has no concrete info, but he did describe the Hitch thing as having a lot of smoke and second hand smoke.

Well. As much as I am against this. I hope it doesn't damage Hitch's legacy with the Stars the way Nieuwendyk's was damaged.

Unless Amy Schumer wants to comes coach this abortion, there aren't any other washed up, selectively overrated, talentless fat tubs of *poo poo* that are more ripe for the job. Welcome home, Hitch.

One thing I did like about him: he was great in post game interviews. Very intelligent analyses of the game.

This about the most succinct and on-point analysis I could ask for.

According to Dreger the Stars had talks with Ruff, but didn't want to pay his asking price. Dreger didn't specify when it happened.

As in wanting to renew/extend his contract?
