- All of the new guys fans weren't happy about adding all had great games.
- Perry is evil. He looks like he could be one of the Hellraiser demons. No makeup needed. Just his soulless stare.
- Korpikoski looks like a nice addition as a depth/PKer. Once more, the advanced stats are lies. He was a bit passive on the forecheck. My guess is that's something Ruff will change. Instead of coasting with a stick in the passing lane, he's going to be told to skate hard at the defender.
- How many attempts on net did Sharpe have? 20?
- Did Benn know the Stars were wearing green tonight?

Niemi made a save on a breakaway tonight. Sure he got scored on on the rebound, but baby steps.

It wouldn't have been a goal in a shootout.

Nice to see the team be able to overcome some suspect coaching tonight.

Is Oleksiak just going to spend the season in the press box again? That seems like a waste.

Nah. Remember, we're trading him and fatso for Bishop.

It wasn't a weak goal at least. Very difficult to control a rebound there.

I just want to eliminate the weak, backbreaking goals. And he saved our asses for a period too, which was a bonus.

Two points, not bad. I liked Razor and Ludwig, Luddy is letting Razor take most of the time, but he did add some nice info/perspective.

I thought the Stars looked great for the first five minutes or so, then they got on the PP, gave up the shortie and fell apart. Thankfully Niemi made enough saves, and the D cleared most of those rebounds and we survived.

R n R Hall of Fame worthy tempo tonight. Keep it up, it's fun.

Oh, our Ritchie won despite the disparity of their positions.

Razor was not quite as quick witted when he had to do the play by play, eh?

It's a tough gig.

Play by play kinda keeps him rooted. Just one game here, but it's nice.

I noticed he repeated the same key phrases a lot, and then I thought about how difficult it would be not to. Such a fast moving game.

I'd rather a guy repeat the same descriptive phrases over and over instead of Doc Emerick reaching into his verb salad to spit out words with no connection to the play on the ice.

Razor seemed to use a lot of the same descriptions as Ralph, which is fine. Luddy continually said, "The good news is..."

That one wasn't on him at all. Would have been nice to see a defender get back in time to cover the 2nd shot on the breakaway. And Niemi did not end up sitting on his rear end, so bonus!

"The good news" pretty much encapsulates that one.

"The good news it that despite getting outshot 18-1 and giving up 4 power plays in the first period, the Stars are actually just tied".
"The good news it that despite none of our top scorers producing, we totally won the game".
Etc.

Razor was a little over the top with some of his exuberance in his calls, but it was nowhere near Emerick levels so it was fine.

I like Emmerick.

I also like Devin Shore. He looked like the real deal.

I'll give Devin Shore at least 3 more games before I call him a bust.

I liked that. It made it exciting. Strangis was so boring for like the last decade because he was obviously over that job for quite some time.

Yeah. I like exuberance and didn't think it was all that over the top. He captured almost exactly what I was feeling as a Stars fans at those moments.

I liked it, but then didn't like it in the sense that it is not a normal call. Or maybe it was because I've been used to Strangis and last year Strader, who also called it more even.

Also, Ludwig was very quiet, so Razors voice was just louder.

In short, I'm an old man who wants it to be perfect.

During the into, there was a point where you could tell the guys in the truck were turning Ludwig's mic up. They need to do more. He's not a guy with a radio voice.

Not sure this team even warrants a new game thread. Let's just reuse this one since the date and opponent are correct.
