Honestly, I've got nothing against Modano following his retirement. We've all assumed that his not being associated much with the Stars' organization post-retirement as being on him. But in light of the f'ing horse *poo poo* rant, maybe the problems aren't all on one side.

Good luck to him - hope he does well.

I judged him harshly for it at first. But, yeah, I'm starting to see his side of things a little. I'm sure there is blame on both sides. I'm also sure he will go back to the Stars at some point in the future.

The end of his time in Dallas and his going to Detroit soured me. Just felt like he had the opportunity to be a one team player when that just doesn’t happen often these days. He never liked Detroit and then made a big deal about returning home, some bullsh that was. But whatever, best to Mo in Minny, they’ll need it.

Do those teams all put former players on the payroll when those players don't live in Dallas?

Don’t give a *poo poo*. Sorry. Not a story for me.

Honestly, after they're no longer playing I don't get all the dick sucking either.

Well... when you aren't a team with things like current successes to point to, you lean on the past. Keeping former star players around the organization to appear at events and shake hands helps keep up fuzzy feelings about when things were good.

I get why the organization might try to do it. I just don't get why sportswriters get their panties in a bunch about it if it doesn't work out.

Is he the “Ambassador of Fun” for the Wild? Cause that’s only one step away from being Co-GM in some organizations.

In Edmonton that's actually just the GM's official title.

It’ll be good for him to get some experience before we hire him as GM in two years.

A cheap and effective middle-6 forward for an overpaid offensive d-man who creates no offense?

Subban’s contract is even stupider than Jamie’s. Pass.

Good trade for both teams. De Haan is a solid defensive defenseman (as in, "actually good at defense", unlike some of our "defensive" d-men), which is exactly what Chicago needs. Forsberg is a backup goalie who was great in the AHL, and might fill that role (or more) in Carolina, where their goalies suck.

Probably means that Chicago will have to see more of Cam Ward's shittiness for another year. Or they could sign Kari to back up Crawford.

The eyepatch would explain why he always loses his guy in coverage.

Coach Jones only has to say “No” without even yelling and the play will stop.
