Re: 2015 NHL Draft
Werenski, Connor or Meier would all be nice additions to our prospect stable.

I did not see that the bottom text was a link. I wish someone around here would do link testing.

Can we get a reasonable player at 12?

The top five guys are amazing, and then 5-15 are all about the same level of "definitely good, possibly a few great ones in there." So as long as we don't reach, we should get a pretty good player at #12.

In looking at the player profiles, it seems like Zach Werenski would be a good choice if available.

Links are updated in the second post.
Stars should get someone really good at that spot.

Yes definitely. He's my favorite and only guy I've heard of in the 2nd round (thanks to clicking your link).

Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Don Maloney also said today he's getting offers making him consider moving down from number 3. My guess: one of those teams is Columbus.
Blue Jackets are looking for one of the top D, and Jarmo Kekalainen is not afraid to be aggressive.
Aaron Portzline @Aportzline 1h
If #CBJ are pursuing the No. 3 pick, seems pretty clear it's Boston College D Noah Hanifin they are targeting. #needforD

Pretty interesting history of the 2005 draft as told by GM's and NHL people and players.
Also, I had forgotten that Brian Lee and Gilbert Brule were drafted before Anze Kopitar. Oops.

Mock Draft Recap
NHL Scouts Poll for 2015 Draft
Barzel says the Devils, Flyers and Avs are the most interested in teams.
Flyers could trade up for Provorov
“It doesn’t change, no matter where you pick,” Nill said. “You’re goal is to get the best player. The ultimate goal is to hopefully draft two or three players, [that] three, four or five years down the road, eventually play for your team.”
“You always want to draft a goalie in the draft, but like every other position, we’re going to see who that player is we want to pick, doesn’t matter if it’s first round or second round or all rounds after that,” Nill said.
Mock Draft Recap
4. The NHL rediscovers Russia:Right wing Denis Gurianov of the Russian team Lada Togliatti could be drafted closer to No. 10 than No. 20.
But the Russian economy has hurt the value of the ruble, leaving the KHL's contracts less valuable. We could see veteran Russian players looking to come to the NHL, and the younger players are less inclined to stay in Russia.
That's why Gurianov, a 6-2 forward, might inch up closer to the top 10. He's a dynamic scoring threat.
Dennis Gurianov
“An absolute horse – he’s big and fast with a long, powerful stride that eats up ground. Has without question the best and hardest shot in the draft - an absolute rocket that he can pinpoint with accuracy from anywhere. A true gamebreaker and natural sniper who is deadly from the circles on down.” – Red Line Report 2015 Draft Guide
