Hull could probably teach him how to party and still be productive, too. Hull got drunk enough to steal his coach's car and still scored 70+ goals.

Or when he does get it away quickly, so often it's while he's out near the boards or off a pass from the opposite point. Either way, he's giving the goalie more time to get over. It's why his big one timers on the PP aren't requiring difficult saves.

According to advanced stats, the velocity on Benn's cross-ice passes to Seguin on the PP has slowed from 86 mph to 84.7. That could be the reason.

I don't read this section often enough to know whether Todd's *fargin'* with someone or not. I assume he must be, because if we've begun to evaluate the velocity of cross ice passes down to that......I dunno. Then maybe advanced stats are for the gamers.

My favorite part was the writer surmising that Brett Hull wasn't an adroit passer because of a low assist total.

When Brett was inducted into the Hall of Fame Hitch told Scott Burnside that he was the best passer on the Stars: http://espn.go.com/nhl/halloffame09/columns/story?columnist=burnside_scott&id=4624191

Of course he was good at passing. Why bother to develop your skating when you can just pass the puck?

I'll never forget that goal. I still have a VHS of that game!

This was the game after Modano stuck his foot in his mouth about how "nothing better is going to come along" about his fiance.

I'm pretty sure he loved his financial advisor then, too.

No one tell Todd that is not how babies are made. He might get mad at his wife.

You can't really know how babies are made until you've seen the advanced stats.

Don't you have to *f-bomb* a stork or something?

The Eastern Conference won the skills competition 29-12, giving John Tavares and Jaromir Jagr the choice as captains of which period to play their semifinal game Sunday in the All-Star Game. They chose the first period for the 3-on-3 competition. Tavares, captain of the Metropolitan Division, said they had to give Jagr a chance to rest as captain of the Atlantic Division.

''If we win, we get more rest,'' Jagr said. ''If we lose, I can fly home right away. I'm sorry Nashville. I'm honest.''

We're going to get his cap space when he is allowed to get overpaid by some dumb team like Carolina.

I wonder if this is a bit of a negotiating tactic. My guess is he's not getting much contract extension love from Nill, so he's going to put his house on the market now to show how serious he is about leaving in free agency.

Like Goligoski, that house has been hyped to *poo poo* by local media, but when you get down to it it just looks pretty boring.
