Yeah, Ludwig is really good when he has time to expound upon the details of the game. During the play by play, though, it seems like he’s mostly just making filler comments.

I miss Ralph a bit. His play by play seemed a lot more natural than than Razor or Strader’s. Like he was describing the action as opposed to announcing the action. He came across as genuine fan and not some guy showing up for work.

Razor is natural too, that's just how he talks.

Razor and Ludwig are improved this year. Have been thinking they made some effort in the off season to improve.

Ludwig is far improved over the first time he tried color analysis. I remember that. It was way back last decade but can't remember the specific game. He sounded like an autistic 5 year old when he had to speak in that game.

So far, in Campbell's second career start (yawl remember his 41-save effort against Anaheim five years ago, right?), he's stopped 30 of 31 and is single-handedly keeping his team in the game.

Nice to see Campbell get his first NHL win at age 26. He can still make it in the NHL. Shame he couldn't make it work for the Stars. If he had lived up to expectation, he'd be the starter now, and the Stars wouldn't have had to sign Bishop as an expensive veteran. That's the ultimate price of having first round picks flame out.

In unrelated news, Fowler played his 546th NHL game on Sunday.

Yeah, it's good to see Fowler, after hundreds of games in which he was the worst player on the ice for either team, finally progressing to half the offensive d-man that Klingberg is.

Fowler is never going to be Klingberg or something awesome, but he is a consistent 30-40 point producer. Teams need depth players, and the Stars would have been much better off over the past several seasons if they had Fowler on the roster as a known commodity doing what he does season after season. It would have been one less headache for Nill and his constant struggle to build a d corps.

I slot Fowler-Honka above Klingberg-Lindell/Methot.

Greg Wyshinski, formerly of Puck Daddy but now with ESPN, proposes that the NHL should have a Jere Lehtinen award:

His point was that the award is almost always won by a center - so have the Selke be for the best defensive center and the Lehtinen be for the best defensive winger (and to name it the Lehtinen just to have an award named for a Euro).

Yeah, I watched some of that Pens/Flyers game last night, he was good. 1 goal and 1 assist. I missed his 4 minute head butting penalty, though.

It's going to be pretty cool having the 5th best player from the '99 team here.

Yes. Can't wait to see the all-star mouth breathing skills come out for the ceremonial puck drop. It should be jaw-dropping.
