Re: Former Stars Thread
^Early contender for LOL of the year has presented itself: The Sens and Canucks were set to play each other when the trade was announced, so McKenna walked from one dressing room to the other with his stuff in a garbage bag.
That Hanzal's so hurt right now.

Pretty sure something similar happened when the Stars acquired Chris Therien from the Flyers way back when. His very first game as a Star was in Philly.

As a follow up to my Jan 2 post about McKenna being traded to Vancouver:
Shapiro had an article about his trade situation He was signed by the Senators to fill their AHL role, but was called up and had been on the NHL club. Then, the Senators traded him to Vancouver, who wanted him as AHL depth while they give Thatcher Demko his shot. He had to go through waivers to make it to Utica, and Philadelphia claimed him (he is the 7th goalie the Flyers have used this year). Philly made it his 3rd NHL club in 3 days! Not only that, but he has now been part of the organizational depth of 15 teams!
Really interesting article if you have a subscription: https://theathletic.com/758477/2019/01/09/three-teams-in-three-days-inside-mike-mckennas-week-with-the-senators-canucks-and-flyers/
Makes you feel sorry for his family. Life of the minor league/fringe NHL player is not glamorous.

Campbell can't catch a break. He hasn't allowed more than 2 goals in a game since Nov 1... and has all of three wins since then (in a backup role, but still).

He's actually written three books. Read an interesting article about him several months ago. He really is more of an entrepreneur than a goalie coach. Kind of an interesting dude though.
