Ha.

"Well, we aren't talking about expansion at the moment. But IF, and I do mean IF, we were going to add a team in Las Vegas, it would be owned by the Maloof family and it would play in the brand new arena we just toured."

This is like OJ's "If I Did it" book.

I may be mis-remembering this, but didn't the Maloof brothers desperately need to sell the Sacramento Kings and Palms casino a few years ago due to financial troubles? Maybe not the most stable ownership group you might want.

Like the NHL has a history of picking financially stable (or non-felonious) owners.

That's kind of my point. Learn from the past.

Like the NHL has a history of looking at it's past and improving decision-making based on past actions.

Seems like the dollars are covered, but does the NHL want another empty arena? I think that is what it's going to come down to in the end.

This is stupid. Pretty soon we'll have so many teams that each team will see each other one time during the whole year.

Quit expanding.

Is Vegas a relocation or expansion target? I know owners prefer expansion because they like sharing the expansion fee.
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

I'm okay with relocation. Florida or Arizona come to mind there.

I guess that means there will have to be 2 expansion teams in the West, for an even number.

When we drove thru Vegas last month we saw a billboard saying Bring the NHL to Vegas. I guess they did an all out advertising blitz since they already built the arena.

They can have any of our defensemen in the expansion draft as far as I'm concerned lol. Except Klingberg.

They can have Garbutt too.

An expansion draft would be awesome. Maybe they would take Kari.

Seattle's original team, they were the first American team to win the Stanley Cup in 1917.
Seattle Metropolitans.

I hope Seattle adopts that team's history as its own and hangs Cup banners. Follow the Ottawa Senators and Cleveland Browns examples. Team history belongs to a city.

Just call them the "Mets".

Las Vegas NHL franchise has its colors: black, gold and gray

There was one little nugget of news regarding the Las Vegas Whatevers during the meet and greet. Foley said the team’s colors will be black, gold and gray, which matches with the color scheme of the United States Military Academy, whose sports teams are known as the Black Knights, the Vegas billionaire’s initial favorite for the team's name.

Foley did say, however, there will be a “Name the Team” contest with season-ticket holders where the field will be narrowed down to 10 finalists. So for those of you who support "Las Vegas Aces" option, there's still hope

Can we hurry up and get past this Vegas thing and on to Seattle, please?

A team in the desert is going to make their fans wear black?

We will all have to pitch in and buy Pistol a t-shirt so he can never go back.
