As of to-day... like, this very second:
Dickinson >>> Korpikoski/Eakin/Cracknell/McKenzie
Honka >>> Jordie/Oduya/Nemeth/Probably Hamhuis

Riley Tufte, whom you may remember as our #1 pick last year, was bumped up from the 4th line at Minnesota-Duluth (where he didn't score) to the 1st line, and now is a goal-a-game player ever since. Pretty good for a freshman.

Re: Texas Stars thread
You should probably include how many games that is. Like is it 2 games or 20 games that he is a goal-a-game player?

4 goals in 4 games. That's enough sample size for me.

I will be sure to congratulate him on his Hobey Baker win and his hat trick in his only career NHL game when I'm ordering my Starbucks in five years.

Roope Hintz tearin' it up in Finland's top league. Despite missing 13 games (about 25% of the season) with an early injury, he's just outside of the top-ten in scoring.
We also have a goalie in Finland's second league with stellar stats, but we're not going to be talking about Finnish goaltenders any more.

Has he progressed enough for Nill to R.Hintz his hands of the guy by trading him for goalie help.

Have they introduced checking into the Eurospare leagues yet?

Re: Texas Stars thread
Trump has recently demanded that European leagues put in at least the same amount of checking as American leagues, per NATO obligations. It's only fair.

Re: Texas Stars thread
Just FYI, it's been 23 years since the Stars drafted and developed a good goaltender. Not having an AHL goalie coach might have something to do with that:

Re: Texas Stars thread
Roman Turek, Manny Fernandez, Dan Ellis, Mike Smith, etc were all starters in the show for quite a while. There was a point where like 1/6 of all the starting goalies in the league were Stars draft picks. The fact that none of them found success here is another story.

Re: Texas Stars thread
You're still talking a very long time ago since the Stars produced an NHL quality goalie.

If that were anything like the beer league hockey I play, all of his teammates would be screaming "PASS!" the entire rush up the ice.

Re: Texas Stars thread
So Riley Tufte and his Minnesota-Duluth team will be in the Frozen Four in two weeks. We'll see if he has a Gurianov moment and just takes that shizz over. But probably not, since he's just a freshman, albiet a giant one.

Tufte takes the ice against Harvard at 6pm on ESPN2, for those of you who enjoy watching hockey and haven't been reduced to a pile of cold, grey ash by this season.
