Weird. They have the same goal horn as the Dallas Stars.

Also, Eakin looks terrible.

Hey, at least we got to watch some hockey. It was a fine game, a nice 2-0 shut out for Nilstrop. He looked pretty good too, he was under fire for most of what I saw. And that was his 3rd shut out of the season. That's 3 more than Kari Lehtonen has!

And Olesiak won that fight hands down. He's gonna be fun.

We saw 'em play the "Charlotte Checkers" last night. It looked like Charlotte was more organized and intentional, but the Stars won by a wide margin, so there you go.
They may be America's team, but we're Texas' team.

The other team probably scored it on themselves. He just happened to be the last Stars player to touch the puck.

Oleksiak was fun to watch. He was the most dominant offensive player in the game. He played tons of PP time and was amazing. He would sneak down to the net when appropriate and would get shots on goal from the point. Honestly, I'd call him back up solely to play on the PP. He wasn't as awesome in his own end, but what he did on offense was worth the price of admission.

It was Cleveland Browns night. There were Browns players there. The Browns mascot was running around. Lots of fans in Browns jerseys. And the Monsters were wearing orange and brown jerseys that looked great.

Here you can see Vincour and Wandell doing what they do best.

Image

Oleksiak spends about half the game standing, which kind of suck if you're right behind him and trying to watch the game.

Image

That blurry floating head is Oleksiak's head. It went by the bench for congratulations after scoring his second goal. (stupid iphone)

Image

During an intermission, a special guest arrived: the mascot for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The mascots for the Monsters and Browns jumped him and curb stomped him.

Image

While waiting for a TV timeout to end, some of the other Stars decided to gather round and stare at the best player on the ice.

Image

The iphone camera is terrible for motion shots.

Also, there was a fight that was awesome.

Sneep scored his first goal.

Campbell wasn't tested much but made the saves.

There was another big d-man who looked very good. Some dude named Baldwin. I've never heard of him, but he stood out for his play on defense.

Does their coach Desjardins have a Parkinson's like disease? I'd hate to make fun of the guy if his mannerisms are out of his control.

You don't want a report of a future Norris winner and Hall of Famer?

I've been meaning to see what Anaheim's beat writer has to say about Cam Fowler this year.

He's missed almost the entire season due to injury, which explains their amazing start.

Stars game is on the sports alternate I've checked out some of the game.
Bachman looks terrible, allowed a very soft goal.
Fraser scored a PPG
Wandell had made a nice pass to set up Morin, who couldn't get the shot off, then passed it to Fraser who scored.
Scott Glennie made a open ice hit

Stars won 7-6 over the Aeros.

Joe Morrow impression from BigG44 who watched the game.

BigG44 wrote:Morrow was everything we expected. I think the Texas twitter and Owen Newkirk oversold some of his shots. He did have some nice hard slappers, but he didn't really get a chance to lay into one. He played smart steady defense, but most importantly everything about his game was confidence, confidence, confidence. .

BigG44 wrote:Without a doubt. Every move he made was decisive and successful (no turnovers or bobbles). Some times he went with a crisp pass. Other times he throw some stick or body language at a guy. He was definitely equally confident skating with the puck or dishing to someone else.

He had some timely pinches as well, and now that I think about it, I don't recall a single blocked shot.

Well, I'm almost done. Team loses tonite, it's pretty much gone until August. Except perhaps discussing possible rule changes that are already being tried there. NHL is studying the 10 fight rule apparently.
