My pants are tighter than when I'm reading Todd's book.
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

Wow. We're going to score a lot of goals this year.

Wow. We're going to give up a lot of goals this year.

54 points in 70 something games last year isn't too bad for a 40 year old.

I just think it's cool he'll be in a Stars jersey for a year. I'm definitely getting a Jagr jersey.

Does this mean Doan is out? I assume so. Can they still address the blueline somehow?

I doubt Joe is done with trades. Otherwise signing Rome the same day as talking about giving Dillon a shot doesn't make sense. Robidas / Fistric for....?

Doan is reportedly taking a while to see if Phoenix gets ownership issues straightened out. It seems pretty obvious he doesn't want to leave Phoenix (and I don't blame him) and I bet the Stars had an opportunity with Jagr and took it. Doan would probably be the better choice, but I bet Joe decided to go with a sure thing.

But really, if we aren't going to sign any big guns, why not? I'll look at Jagr in a Stars uniform.

Wow nice.

And the blolziest part, Modano is no longer the most talented player in franchise history.

Earlier convo w/Bill Metzer covers PHI:Jagr was tremendous with Flyers' young players this season. Fellow vets marveled at his work ethic.

It's on NHL.com now, so seems like it's a done deal.
Now Dr. Salmon has left.

Would be funny if they got it wrong and he signed with Detroit.

Jagr and Whitney? I didn't know they're rebooting the Golden Girls.

Man, this team would be awesome in 98.

(But seriously, I hope Jagr can teach Vincour how to score. If he does, this signing is worth it on that alone.)

Yeah, I think it's more about selling tickets and the veteran presence. But he did put up decent numbers last year, even if he's not that fast anymore.

What a great signing. 1 year. An old guy to hang with Ray. A great player, even at 40. A big name to draw attendees. A mentor.

Our top 6 is actually looking pretty exciting. Benn, Eriksson, Ryder, Roy, Whitney and Jagr. Not bad at all.

Pierre LeBrun
Just chatted with Nieuwendyk. He was looking at his board in his office and had Benn centering Jagr and Eriksson... Pretty good!
