Won't be much of a problem since the Kings are equal to a AHL team.

Assuming he does sign with a NHL team, they are the most likely.

lots of spares heading to Europe (lots of updates in the first post), what i did find interesting though is that Petr Nedved has received a tryout with the New York Rangers.

Google News wrote:Columbus Blue Jackets have invited defenseman Richard Matvichuk to training camp as a non-roster tryout. The team is still awaiting word on whether the 35-year-old Matvichuk will accept. If Matvichuk accepts he'll be with former coach Ken Hitchcock, whom he played for with the Dallas Stars.

Alexei Zhitnik signs a tryout contract with Dynamo Moscow.

huh, figured he was still good enough to not warrant a tryout basis, especially to play back home in Russia.

(unless it's contingent on him getting an offer from an NHL club)

giant list updated with more Euro signings (including Sean "Steroid" Hill heading to Switzerland).

does anyone even read it? when NHL 09 comes out and you wanna update your rosters (as EA's roster updates are severely incomplete) you'll be thanking the *poo poo* out of that list.

Teppo Numminen re-signs with Buffalo, which i find surprising considering all of the harsh comments he made about the organization at the end of last season.

the Hurricanes invited Jeff O'Neill to training camp.

the Sabres sign Tyler Bouck from Anaheim/ Portland Pirates.

the Toronto Marlies name Doug Gilmour as an assistant coach.

John Tortorella won't be getting a NHL head coaching job this year.

Money isn't a major issue for Isles owner Charles Wang, but there always was a question whether Tortorella and a team committed to long-term development plan were the right fit for each other.

Islanders general manager Garth Snow is expected to sharply narrow his long list of candidates over the weekend and reach a decision on a successor to Ted Nolan early next week, an NHL source said.

With Tortorella out of the Isles' picture, the other candidates who have interviewed with Snow include former Atlanta coach Bob Hartley, former Toronto coach Paul Maurice, former Lightning assistant and Boston coach Mike Sullivan, current AHL coach of the year Scott Gordon of Providence, former Los Angeles coach Marc Crawford and Isles assistant Gerard Gallant. The search should conclude about a month after Nolan's July 14 departure.
