Miikka Kiprusoff _ Calgary _ $8.5 million
Henrik Lundqvist _ NYR _ $7.75 million
Roberto Luongo _ Vancouver _ $6.75 million
Nikolai Khabibulin _ Chicago _ $6.75 million
Marty Turco _ Dallas _ $5.7 million
Cristobal Huet _ Chicago _ $5.6 million
J-S Giguere _ Anaheim _ $5.5 million
Tomas Vokoun _ Florida _ $5.5 million
Evgeni Nabokov _ San Jose _ $5.5 million
Martin Brodeur _ New Jersey _ $5.5 million
Wow. That one is WAY out of alignment. I can't even begin to imagine who thought it was a good idea to make Lundqvist the 2nd highest-paid goalie in the league.
Kimmo Timonen _ Philadelphia _ $8 million
Wade Redden _ NYR _ $8 million
Zdeno Chara _ Boston _ $7.5 million
Nicklas Lidstrom _ Detroit _ $7.4 million
Brian Campbell _ Chicago _ $7.1 million
Dion Phaneuf _ Calgary _ $7 million
Lubomir Visnovsky _ Edmonton _ $7 million
Scott Niedermayer _ Anaheim _ $6.75 million
Dan Boyle _ San Jose _ $6.7 million
Ed Jovanovski _ Phoenix _ $6.5 million
Timonen makes $8m???? What the hell is that?
Again, a pretty sucktacular list, IMO. None of those guys are actually worth that much, save for Lidstrom and Niedermayer. Those are the only two on there, that I can see, that have an enormous impact on the fortunes of their team.
Also, I find it funny that Zubov doesn't even come close to top 10. Yet, he would have been a Norris finalist last season if not for injury.
Dany Heatley _ Ottawa _ $10 million
Sidney Crosby _ Pittsburgh _ $9 million
Alexander Ovechkin _ Washington _ $9 million
Jason Spezza _ Ottawa _ $8 million
Tomas Vanek _ Buffalo _ $8 million
Daniel Briere _ Philadelphia _ $8 million
Scott Gomez _ NYR _ $8 million
Brad Richards _ Dallas _ $7.8 million
Ilya Kovalchuk _ Atlanta _ $7.5 million
Marian Gaborik _ Minnesota _ $7.5 million
A little better. Ovechkin is worth it. Crosby probably is too.
Richards is overpaid, but he's a hell of a good player, and we didn't overpay him. We just took on the contract. HEatley is definitely not worth that, and Kovalchuk is wasted on the Thrashers, much like Gaborik on the wild.
