Star-Telegram Metroplex MVP

Postby Stars99Lobo37 » Wed Jul 30, 2008 3:32 pm

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram is doing a 16 guy tournament with the readers voting in each round for the Metroplex MVP.

4 Stars on the ropes.

Mike Modano won his round yesterday vs T.O.
Mike Ribeiro is up against Tony Romo today
Brenden Morrow and Marty Turco are taking each other on today as well.

For those who want to vote. ;)

Sucks to have to pick between Turco and Morrow. I think Modano should win. He's been in Dallas the longest, his team has actually won a championship, and he's been the face of his franchise. Dirk 2nd.

But Romo will probably win.

TO should be #1, followed by Romo then Morrow

Then Modano, Turco and anyone else who's name ends in an 'o'.

What the hell has Romo done to deserve #2 in the MVP vote? He played well for two-thirds of one season, after fumbling the ball in the playoffs the year before and sealing our first round loss. He finished the year last season playing like doodoo, and got himself plastered all over the tabloids to such genius moves as taking it to Mexico during the playoffs. MVP indeed!

Still not seeing your issue here. Your two examples clearly illustrate defense of the hockey player pitted against a Dallas Cowboy. Shabazz threw his hat in there, and GO4 (noted fan of the Vikings) threw her sarcastic band uniform hat in as well.

It's football.

In the hockey section.

Unacceptable.

You have too many rules.

Work on that.

If it is MVP as in most valuable player right now, why is Modano in the running?
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

Because the majority of people living in Dallas still think Mo scores 50 goals a year.

Of course the poll page locks up my browser but I eventually got through and did my part to try and get the Stars past round 2.
