That hit on Suter looked nasty. I was surprised he didn’t leave the game.

Totally agree. Here's the latest piece of art work from Reaves, à la Wilson:

Jesus, that's awful. He picked on two players who weren't trying to do *poo poo* to him. What a piece of *poo poo*.

Vegas loves to goon it up. They sure lured the Stars into tanking a game during the conference finals in the bubble by getting too caught up in the Reaves bullshit.

I'd given up on the game by that point last night. The Avs were killing them, and it wasn't even fun. Why Fleury wasn't in for Vegas, is a mystery. I know hindsight is 20/20 and they wanted to rest him, but that was a bad decision. Fleury has been awesome.

Matthews and Marner are probably going to find living in Toronto to be very miserable for the next few years.

I love how series like these make the mediocre team think it's doing great and the actually good team blow everything up to try and become more like the mediocre team.

TO got Perryed, and Priced, of course. Early this series it looked like TO was gonna womp’em. But Montreal is plucky, a little lucky and they got great goaltending. Awesome.

Jesus.

The Toronto Maple Leafs rarely win, but even when they do, it’s the hard way. Even in the Pat Burns era or later under Pat Quinn, when the team was a genuine contender, it always had to be a battle. Way back in 1963, they won the Stanley Cup by beating the Red Wings in five games. Since that night, almost six decades ago, they’ve won just one seven-game series in fewer than six games. One! If you started watching hockey in 1964, you’ve seen the Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup more often than you’ve seen them win a short and stress-free playoff series, which is pretty amazing considering their whole thing is that they never win the Stanley Cup.

Official statement from the League:

The NHL on behalf of Gary Bettman along with the NHLPA have mutually decided to activate the Special Clause 666-f. of the the new CBA collective agreement and proceed with the folding of the Toronto Maple Leafs taking place with immediate effect due to its continuous, disgraceful and shameful history of failures. Following the dismantlement of the organization, the Special Clause allows the NHL to grant the city of Toronto a new expansion franchise to be joining the League for the season 2021-2022.

A dispersal draft will be held before the opening FA market on a date to be determined to distribute all current active Maple Leafs players in the roster across the 31 other teams in the League. The new expansion team will be then authorized to sign FA with the exception of former Leafs players. Following the Seattle Kraken expansion draft, The new team expansion draft will be scheduled simultaneously with the Seattle Kraken expansion draft, with the two teams picking one player on each of its turn.

The name, logo and colors of the new franchise will be unveiled in late summer 2021 before training camps. All trophies, titles and history of the then Toronto Maple Leafs franchise as well as the previous incarnations of the Toronto Arenas and Toronto St-Pats will not be allowed to follow the new franchise and will remain part of the defunct team.

The NHL is fully aware of the challenges caused by this exceptional measure but it is convinced to act in the best interests of both the League and Toronto fans.

Thank you.

So because of Toronto being Toronto, after re-seeding, the winner of BOS/NYI will face the winner of TBL/CAR,
and the winner of WPG/MTL will face the winner of COL/VGK lulz.

Poor Toronto. Just blame the coach. Not your mediocre D or your less than work ethic. Or that that the way hockey go.

Evans was wheeled off on a stretcher.

Scheifley got five for charging and a game misconduct.

Scheifele should be done for a full 82 for that. The NHL is such a garage league.

It was Jake Evans’ birthday too. Can save money on his tombstone by only having to engrave June 2nd once LOL.

Agreed but for many reasons in addition to this.

The NHL is a joke because we all know this will result in a small fine or a one-game suspension while Evans will be done for the playoffs.

Does anyone know a good way we can send in our opinions as fans to the NHL so they know we want stronger suspensions/fines from injuries? I'm sure they probably don't care, but if I don't share the opinion then they don't know, so worth a shot.

I'm tired of seeing these types of plays where there is intent to injure. Get that *poo poo* out of the game.
