According to different Russian sources, Radulov was scammed for 1.5B rubles ($20.2M) by an unspecified Russian bank, where he had an account.
He and his lawyers are going to sue the bank and get his money back, but it looks like that bank was a big fraud.

That’s nearly as much as he has scammed out of the Stars.

Re: Radulov
When you consider taxes and agent fees, that sum of money is probably more than his whole Stars contract.

More (Russian)
Has happened to others.
the bank's owner was Radulov's friend, and Alexander was their client for 10 years, but the last few years it was an obvious fraud, because the bank's licence was revoked by the central bank.
Another thing is, he was given some real estate as a guarantee, but that real estate turned out to be owned by the city of Moscow.
Has happened to others.

Didn't the same thing happen to Modano? Or was that Trent Reznor.

They should totally hire me as their financial planners. I'd steal 30% at most.

Is it wrong that I think this helps the Stars? Now all of a sudden, Radulov is going to want to play for another big contract.

If he had signed with the Habs rather than the Stars, The QC government would have taken even more money from him.

Or he could be distracted by his problems so much that he doesn’t give a *poo poo* about hockey anymore and the rest of his career is ruined, like Modano.
