Which projected third rounder will we reach for with pick #30?

Re: 2020 NHL Draft
Pretty good primer on what players might be available by the time Dallas picks:

Basically, there's tons of top-end talent left at that point, but all of them have one or two fatal flaws that will cause them to drop down.

Tall? I don’t think there are any of “those people” in the draft.

Realistically I hope we select *checks notes* Roni Hirvonen.

Re: 2020 NHL Draft
30. Dallas Stars: Jacob Perreault, RW, Sarnia Sting (OHL): Like Foerster, Perreault's focus needs to be on improving his skating, but having said that, the kid can score. Perreault's smarts and his shot are two of his best assets and with an NHL pedigree from dad Yanic, you know the kid is aware of what it takes to be a pro.
hockey news mock draft
A couple others had the Stars taking.
10. Tyson Foerster - Right Wing - Barrie Colts (Also has scouting reports on all OHL prospects)
Without question, Foerster possesses one of the best shots in the OHL and was one of the league's most improved players this year. He is the master of the faceoff dot set up, cranking off one timers on the man advantage the same way Alex Ovechkin does. He beats goaltenders clean up top, even without a net front screen. Foerster also exhibits great scoring instincts, sliding his way into the slot to get open in that home plate area so that he can use his quick release. Foerster is also strong without the puck as a support player in the offensive end. He protects the puck well along the wall and despite being only an average skater, is great at applying pressure on the forecheck because he uses his stick well to take away passing lanes. He's just a really smart hockey player. The concern is obviously his production at even strength

Re: 2020 NHL Draft
What’s this bullshit about Yanic Perreault‘s kid bringing his dad’s NHL pedigree? Face-offs were the best part of Yanic’s game, and this kid is a *fargin'* winger?

Re: 2020 NHL Draft
This year's draft is really the ideal outcome. A huge star in the making going to the New York Hawkey Rangers? That's perfect.

I like Foerster but I doubt he'd ever fall to us at #30. Having him on the left and Gurianov on the right side of the PP would be a murderer's row of 100 mph cannons.

I would be fun if the Rangers don't select Lafrenière. I heard that this is not 100% settled on their side.

Re: 2020 NHL Draft GDT
I will have a very strong opinion on the guy the Stars pick right after I've googled his name.

Re: 2020 NHL Draft GDT
The brother of one of the twins' former teammates is eligible for the draft this year (Chase Yoder). He is the 92nd ranked North American skater and has played for the US development team the past couple of years. Another kid they played against, Cross Hanas, is the 58th ranked NA skater. He has been playing in the WHL. If they go, they are likely to going in the lower third of the draft. But it would be neat - especially for Yoder since we know his family well.

Chase Yoder and Cross Hanas. The NHL is quickly becoming the White version of those Key & Peele football bowl sketches.

Jesus Christ, Bettman looks awful. Like he's just five years away from full Al Davis.

At least we won't use the "son-of" in this case. 92 pts in 68 games on a very bad Shawinigan team, good 2-way player, and my homework stops at that point.

I see a bunch of mocks had him going in the 14-23 range. So at least we can say he is not a reach.
