It looks like some sort of throwback will happen as well. The Rangers put something similar on their site.

I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

What does reverse retro mean anyway? Does that mean current color scheme but old layout?

That's a good guess. Might also mean current colors/logos on a fake old timey jersey.

Or the current layout w/ fake old timey colors??

Reverse retro could mean futuristic.

Maybe something like that with the current numbering style but the '93-'94 colors (green numbers and white trim).

Make the numbers in the 90's style, and you'd have me with those.

I think they are going to regret this. He's absolutely a very, very nice man and I can see why the players love him. But his flaws as a coach (and there are many) are going to become much more impactful over a long season.

The good news is there won’t be a long season, if there is a season at all.

Musers laugh. More league minimum players to fill out the roster with. The Stars are the Coyotes now but with Chicago's cap weight.

Great. He'll score a great highlight-reel goal in the preseason I'm sure. Assuming there is a preseason.

This. The only way he shows up on the Dallas Stars roster this year is if there is a massive run of injuries to the defense.

The goal was to create something new and something “futuristic.” The team didn’t want to take the existing uniform and logo and simply change the colors to neon on black. Three guiding points that came out of that first meeting in December of 2018 were: 1. Radically modern 2. Next generation 3. Screw the rules. The Stars submitted those, among other points, to Adidas to emphasize how open they were to different ideas.

There were also two non-starters. Absolutely be no laces and no historical references to previous Dallas sweaters or the franchise’s prior existence in Minnesota.

The numbers look like the 93 black jerseys, so I guess they failed lol.

Of course, if you want to design a futuristic look, then you should try to have something that looks like the 2039-2040 season jerseys rather than previous ones. But futuristic laces could have been interesting.

So lots to look forward to at the start of the season, whenever the heck that is. Looks like Oettinger is going to get plenty of time.

Are this many hip injuries common in hockey? Or should someone look at the Stars’ training methods? Because they’ve had 1-2 players have to have hip surgery every year going back at least 6-7 years.

There was a stretch where the Stars decided they liked using off-season hip surgeries and handed them out like candy. In a 12 months span, they sent Hemsky, Nichushkin, Benn, and Klingberg to get similar hip surgeries. To jog your memory:
https://www.nhl.com/stars/news/monday-n ... y/c-763151

Let's see what came of those:
- Klingberg - recovered well and was as good as ever
- Nichushkin - lost a season due to recovery complications and may have cost him whatever breakaway burst he had
- Hemsky - pretty much never was the same again
- Benn - Had a couple more productive seasons afterwards, but him playing through a season long hip injury at 25 was a hint of what was happening with his body

Man, I feel really bad for Tyler. Another major surgery that will probably slow him down going forward. He used to be so scary fast....
