Good on Dobby to get his first postseason shutout.

Like I was saying earlier, the best strategy against Vegas is to score in the first few minutes and then proceed to nurse that 1 goal lead for 50+ minutes.

It was ok this time, but the pylon strategy to hold the score against a team like the Knights is often a bad one.

Just like we predicted: Dallas would dominate Vegas in every zone and Khudobin would play the easiest game of his life.

Very similar to the Colorado series.

it wasn't like the previous game against vegas though. We spent actual time in their zone and were great in the neutral zone.

Benn's best game so far. The good news is that some of our players who looked washed up against Colorado actually were skating looser tonight.

Vegas in 5.

That game wasn’t nerve wracking at all.

There was actually something calming about not seeing a goal every 5 minutes though.

With all of the mental mistakes in the third, it’s pretty shocking no one scored. Razor’s broadcasting career has been building up to this format where everyone really is tired.

Lowest energy Jamie Benn needed subtitles to be understood.

We could of scored five with all the possession and good chances. Turns out we didn’t need to tonight. Vegas was the tired looking team.

The optimistic theory I just made up tonight is maybe some of our players who have slowed down over the years will see everyone else match their speed as this drags on.

Vegas is definitely not Colorado speed wise though. I though Gurianov and Hintz were flying.

So the plan is next time we notice him is when he will net the GWG of the SC final game 7 right?

With the forwards all playing similar amounts of ice time, this team is also better poised to deal with the grind.

We probably would've scored more had we gotten more than 14 seconds of powerplay time.

Vegas kept going to that redirection play they beat Vancouver with. They tried it about 5 times in the last few minutes.

This seems way easier when the other team doesn't have a Mackinnon.

Hanley was quietly more serviceable than Fedun.

As these playoffs keep pouring a game every 48 hours, I wonder if we will start to see more lineup churning to try to bring fresh legs in here and there.

It looked like Hanley to me, who I was also surprised they had a picture for LOL. But then again he’s a former Hab so maybe not ...

Great *fargin'* win. I watched this one with three buddies and they were surprised with how punishing we were. Being able to flip a switch back to our deep water drowning (which is in our DNA from the only success we had during the regular season) and not miss a beat was cool to see. For now anyways LOL. Vegas will come out flying for Game 2, so hopefully Reaves does some overreaching dumb *poo poo* to our advantage.

Puck jacking is nice, but those numbers are why Vancouver fought back to make it to game seven.

Remember a couple of years ago when Jagr was playing for the Bruins and they had like a 3OT game? Jagr was old and slow obviously but he works out so much that he didn't lose any speed as the game went on, and by the 2nd OT he was the fastest player on the ice and was dominating like it was 1994. He ended up assisting on the OT goal.

So if there are any transcendent players on the Stars who are more dedicated to the game than most other players, then yeah maybe this theory would apply to the Stars.

The Stars played their best, most complete game. Every player and line was on board with limiting Vegas. They scored only the 1 goal, and on a lot of nights that wouldn't be enough, but that kind of defensive play, which results in puck possession is going to win games.

Benn played his best game, every shift. A big improvement.

And in the third period, even though the Stars were defending the one goal lead it didn't feel like they were slipping away from their possession game.

Hurray Khudobin! I didn't even think shutout because I was too worried about giving up the usual, par for the course, tying goal.

That's a lot to live up to going forward.
