Starting Bishop killed this whole series. Also, it looks like the Avs changed their style, and Bowness had no answer.

Seguin needs to be traded because he’s always hurt at playoffs time.

On the plus side, at least the Stars are finally playing the game their coach wants them to.

It’s such a player thing. They play really well, get the lead, and then go full-on lazy. Just demote Benn if you can’t trade him. Force him to waive the NMC.

Right now I'd like so *fargin'* much to put Tortorella on this chokers' bench.

I think there will be no real changes this offseason. Maybe some AHL coach is made head coach, but otherwise, it’s going to be the same roster. Probably even get spares like Perry and Janmark brought back.

Just a shower thought: the only way starting Bishop over Khudobin makes sense is if Khudobin is also injured.

As long as Nill is in charge, I’m sure it will be the same. We’ll really show sustained success what, 12 years in to his 5-year plan?

Or if Bowness is bad at coaching and making adjustments.

Christ, the story gets even dumber. Bishop is already ruled out for game seven. There's no way he should have played in game five.

As you'll see below, Bowness was determined not to start Dobby in game five. Well, play the kid then. Bishop trying to show toughness to play when he clearly shouldn't would be admirable if it wasn't for how badly it fucked this team.

Strange, usually Bowness has tremendous trust in any player under 25.

That makes it sound to me like Dobby might be nursing a minor injury as well.

What’s even more infuriating is they’ll probably squeak out a Game 7 win in the least convincing way possible, then face Vegas on no rest when they could’ve been relaxing for 3-4 days and get swept.

It is sad to watch the Avs shake up their lineup (partly due to injury and partly trying for better matchups) and also change their style of play to collapse and protect the front of the net, and Bowness has no answer. He's kept the same PP units and usage since the bubble at started. He's kept the exact same lines and d-pairs since maybe game five of the Calgary series.

I get keeping things the same when you win several games in a row scoring nearly at will, but that all went to *poo poo* in game five. Even if you write that one off, where is the coaching in game six? He watched three lines generate very little, but did nothing to try to find something better.

Brilliant bownessian move by Bowness, bownessing ourselves to set up a rope-a-dope Game 7 in which the players will triumph by antibownessing.

The Avs have gotten better each game, kinda like St. Louis did last year. But this time it’s with skill instead of bruises.

And you guys really give Bowness too much credit.

It's the Stars own fault if they are in this position, they gave the Avs the bat to be beaten with.

Ok, the game was more or less equal prior to Comeau's double minor, but then it was all Colorado. Their leaders gain rhythm even if they remained scoreless on the PP while ours stayed ice cold on the bench. How many real dangerous scoring chances had the Stars? Two, maybe three? And Heiskanen's goal was a nice gift by Hutchinson.

Terrible to admit, but Colorado has finally way more depth than the Stars.

The time in the bubble is a microcosm of the entire season. Started pretty bad where it looked like the team was one of the worst in the league. Then things picked up and the team had one of the best records for a long streak, until their play totally went to crap again. Don't know if I've ever seen such a wildly inconsistent team.

Pretty much the entire team, with the exception of Oleksiak and Heiskanen, were no-shows last night, after having been no-shows in game 5. So very disappointing.

And I'm buying in to the Dobby with a nagging injury theory. He's played decently, but he hasn't stolen a game for this team like he did during parts of the regular season.

It puts a different perspective on things. Like if he gets injured in a back to back then now you have 2 unfit goalies, and Oettinger is suddenly the #1 for the rest of the playoffs.

Also, if FCC can’t keep up with MacKinnon then who do you put out there instead? Hintz and Gurianov are the only other guys with any speed. The torching could be much worse than it is now.
