Not the worst showing, but classic Stars hockey.
That Hanzal's so hurt right now.

That final 6on4 was very disappointing. Stars definitely didn't deserve to win. I was just hoping for a little more.

It took six and half periods of hockey and the equivalent of 6 games in 6 days, but the BJs finally look as slow as the Stars on that 6-on-4.

I'd be looking at bringing back Monte, as long as he's "not" sober.

It was essentially a shut out. And one where they barely generated any scoring chances. This wasn’t Talbot standing on his head.

In theory we should be seeing Bishop vs Rittich for Game 2 then.

I am still trying to figure out how the Stars scored twice without threatening to score once.

Seth Jones now just 3 minutes shy of Zubov's NHL record 63.

It’s like an NFL game where a team has 14 points and no first downs thanks to kick return and defensive TD.

I have to admit, good on the forecheck and managing to force turnovers, but when they gained possession... Zero, nothing, nada, nichts, que dalle.

On the 3rd Flames goal I was about to *goddess* -- again -- at Sekera but he played right, trying to block the shot. This time the deflection was perfect, 99% of the time it goes wide, this one went in. *poo poo* happens. Yes Sekera had a rough evening but he's doing his best, he's just at the end of the journey. I'm way more pissed at Klingberg, the turnover machine. A wide wrister with 5 sec. remaining, really ?

A goal is a goal, we'll take it, but if the Stars are unable to count to something else than butt deflections and softies while only trying to score through let's-put-pucks-in-the-crease-and-see-what-happens, the series will be short.

Also, JFC (from Reddit):

"We're gonna play Hintz and Gurianov more"

TOI (not including D)

Benn 18:50

Pavelski 17:28

Radulov 16:39

Seguin 16:28

Janmark 15:40

Faksa 15:34

Gurianov 14:52

Dickinson 14:02

Hintz 13:50

Neither of them even cracks 15:00. FFS.

The teams playing in their 5th OT look faster than the Stars.

For the forwards, Bowness doles our ice time according to cap hits.

That's exactly what came into my mind when watching that. Faster, more energy and more scoring chances with various offensive schemes despite being way less lucid.

Savage Sean is awesome.

10. Tyler Seguin was also back in the lineup after being ruled “unfit to play” in the round-robin finale on Sunday.

He also had just as much of an impact on this game as he did in the one he watched from the Stars box at Rogers Arena.
