Even the reverse jinx won’t save us with Bones at the helm LOL.
That Hanzal's so hurt right now.

Is Mike Smith still their goalie or is he in Edmonton now? I can never remember.

Cam Talbot is Calgary's starter at the moment. They also have David Rittich. Calgary and Edmonton essentially swapped Talbot and Smith, and then Smith lost his starting job to Mikko Koskinen (another 6'7" goalie like Bishop).

Hey, let's put the moron who refuses to wear a shield in front of the net where he won't watch the puck which means he'll be slow to get to any rebound chance.

Smith is pushing 40. I'm surprised he's still playing.

Oof.

Dallas’ primary concern is on the offensive front. The Stars were around average in creating quality chances (13th in expected goals for), but had a tough time finishing with a measly 6.7 percent shooting clip and the final result was that they joined the hapless Detroit Red Wings in being the only teams to score fewer than two goals per 60 minutes of 5-on-5 action during the regular season.

Klingberg’s demise is just as unfortunate and likely tied to the play of Seguin and Benn, the forwards he shares the ice with most. When all three were on the ice together this season, Dallas scored just one goal-per-60 which is almost unfathomable given the talent the three possess. That’s bad luck more than anything, but in any case, something just isn’t working between the three and needs to be diagnosed. They were out-scored 12-4 in 208 minutes thanks mostly to a ghastly three percent shooting percentage.

On any other team that would feel like bad luck ready to regress – maybe just in time for the playoffs – but in Dallas, it feels like a systemic rot toward the team’s offence. It’s what happens when you preach chip-and-chase above all else, even if it’s counter-intuitive to the way a team’s stars create offence. The Stars were one of the league’s worst teams at exiting the defensive zone and entering the offensive zone with control, and Seguin was no exception. He’s usually a strong puck-carrier, but this season he struggled, rating in the 18th percentile for controlled entry percentage. Given his skill-set, that seems like a choice made for him by the coaching staff – arguably the wrong one.

Seguin’s points-per-60 may not be impressive to anyone given his pedigree, but it somehow led the Stars this season which really says it all when it comes to the team’s offence. It’s why the team ranked second last in goals-per-60 and why many of their forwards aren’t more highly regarded. Pavelski going from 0.89 goals-per-60 off an 11.4 percent shooting percentage in his previous three seasons as a Shark to just 0.35 goals-per-60 and a 5.8 percent shooting percentage in his first year as a Star doesn’t feel like a coincidence, nor a drop-off from age alone. From top to bottom the team is an anemic offensive wasteland, one that was previously covered up by the team’s top players carrying them. That’s no longer true.

There may be a gentleman's sweep, I also wouldn't be surprised to see this team swept outright. Bishop probably isn't healthy. Seguin is a game time decision to probably can't contribute much because of that. The power play stinks. And they enter this series having played like crap while Calgary played real playoff hockey.

Flames in 6. Stars will grasp one game because at some point Calgary will have a bad game, and another one on a huge misunderstanding.

Stars in 4. They were rope-a-doping the entire league these last 3 seasons, waiting for this precise moment to start playing for real.

It is Khudobin with Bishop backing up.

Benn – Hintz – Radulov
Janmark – Pavelski – Gurianov
Dickinson – Seguin – Perry
Cogliano – Faksa – Comeau

Can't tell if they're spreading out the speed or the slow.

Kelly Hrudey calling us out for always letting in the first goal LOL.

And Cassie Campbell cautioning Matthew Tkachuk that Jamie Benn isn’t an easy fight ...

Bruce Boudreau on NHL Network said the Stars dumping the puck in hurts the Stars offense, and weakens their forecheck.

Benn taking a better player to the box would be smart hockey.
