I was curious because Harley got that one game in the RR. Not sure if that’s a vote of confidence in Harley or an indication that they thought the RR games were meaningless.

Probably the latter with the hope that in what little time he was given he would show them he could possibly play at this level.

From an article on nhl.com

"Rick Bowness has earned the chance to return as Dallas Stars coach", general manager Jim Nill said Saturday.

"We talked when he took the job over. We said, 'You know what? Let's get us through the regular season. Let's get through the playoffs, and we're going to sit down and talk’.'", Nill told Sportsnet. "But he's earned it, and I hope that down the road he wants to be the head coach."

Assistant coach is the right job. Lower pay and fame but you don't age off an extra 10 years of your life in 1.

This is for the Stars past players who didn't get to share this glory, but their sacrifices lead to this moment

To Trevor Daley. Johnny Oduya. Gemel Smith. Yared Hagos. Maxime Fortunus.

I’ve got memorabilia that’s been sitting in a box for 21 years. Anyone need a rally towel from ’99?

Seriously, the Islanders need to drag this out.

Islanders need to win the series, because I’m a lot less confident about matching up with the Lightning.

Agreed. Didn't we get destroyed by them in the regular season? Or was that last year? Regardless, I'm afraid their offense actually is too good for ours as it is more than just one line like Colorado.

no we beat them in both games in the regular season although both went to OT and they'd be the favorites in the series.

If the Isles come back to win the series, I would be more scared of then. But they won't.

The Lightning are very, very skilled. And their defense and goaltending are superior to Colorado's, so "outscoring your problems" may be a bit more difficult than versus the Avalanche.

According to the regular season their offense is better than Colorado's (terror) and their defense is actually worse (elation).

Not putting a lot of stock in any of that though.

The Lightning have Victor Hedman and Andrei Vasilevskiy. Their defense and goaltending is better than Colorado's based on that fact alone. :D

TB has better offense, defense, goaltending, and coaching. So of course the Stars are going to win. Miro is gonna have to earn that Conn Smythe though.
