Last I heard of him, he was in Nashville coaching youth hockey and still generally f'ing up with his family. Very self destructive and very sad.

He's doing a different kind of hanging around than Lyashenko.

Hey, 'member Derek Plante (I did just from watching the Stars/Edmonton Game 1 last night)?
He played two of his last three seasons with the Nippon Paper Cranes of the Asia League. Everyone knew that, right?

I watched the second half of game 2 this afternoon. I don't know how any of those MF'ers got out of a playoff series alive. Outside of like, Hull, Lehtinen, Guerin, Zubov and Modano, those bastards were actively trying to kill each other. And even Guerin at that young age wasn't really *fargin'* around.
And that's with Hatcher suspended.
Also, Tommy Salo, LOL. Hadn't thought about him in a gazillion years.

Really? I always thought he retired after his last stint in Switzerland. My last souvenir was him sitting next to me during a game in the press-box, logging face-offs and shots for his team as he was an injured scratch.

That's according to Wikipedia, which you know must be right. 2005-06 and 06-07. Looks like he played his last year in the second tier Swedish league.

Right, I didn't check the gap in the dates on hockeydb. So he apparently finished his career in our good old swiss second division. What surprised me: he was damn small and light for a hockey player.
Fun fact, he played both for the Stars and the Sabres in 1998-1999, the two team that met in the SC final. Given that he played 6 play-off games, I think he should have his name on the cup and his day parade too, if I'm not mistaken.

What I remember most about Sutherby was that he took up a roster spot and decisively lost a fight once.

Pretty much, but getting guys who can fill that spot and not screw things up is somewhat difficult.

They Lyle Odelein/Matthew Barnaby story that Bob just told on the Ticket was pretty funny.

I still remember thinking back in 2004 that trading Jason Bacashihua (26th overall in 2001) for Shawn Belle (30th overall in 2003) was going to work out for both teams LOL.

Guess who:
Two players have been both on the 1991 team that reached the SC final and won it in 1999. The first guy is easy to find but who's the second ?
