The St. Louis goal song sounds like something uncle Jessie would have written on Full House in 1990. Pure ear rape.

Colorado is winning against Nashville tonight. Blow this one, and I think we can pretty comfortably settle into that 3rd seed.

Miro is great in transition and rarely looses puck battles along the boards, but he doesn't seem to be very strong in front of the net.

I miss the days when you could clear the crease. Now, everybody just pulls their pants down and bends over while the opposing team just rides the goalie. Sick of that.

The Stars are officially the most out of shape team in the nhl. They've looked labored, and half ass lately.

I’m starting to think that Gurianov is close to being NHL ready.

I think it is more the super physical teams like the Blues and Bruins are bad matchups for the Stars.

Janmark has more breakaway moves than Jamie.

Just caught the highlights, down 3-1 with the tying goal at 19 sec. remaining, I think it's a winning point instead of a loser point right ?

Yeah I agree, however they'll look so dead in one period, then alive the next period. They did have 3 back to back pks to take care of in that second period.

I’ll take that point. Stars can hang with the big boys, so yay, but they weren’t the best team. The physicality of both the Blues and the Bruins are difficult to manage. Felt like we were just hanging on a good bit, but nice to catch a break with the goalie pulled.

Let's hope both the Blues and Bruins are eliminated early.

Losing consistently isn't really "hanging with" the actually very good teams. I guess it beats getting blown out, but man, the Stars spent a lot of time hyping up how they were only one goal away from the conference finals, and it still looks like they are at the same level - fine, but not great.

Seventy-three NHL players have scored 20 goals or more this season. When it comes to average time on ice, Gurianov is 73rd with an average of 12 minutes, 49 seconds per game. The other 72 20-goal scorers are averaging at least 14:11 per game, leaving 82 seconds between 73rd and 72nd (Chicago’s Dominik Kubalik) on the list.

When we expand the list to players with at least 15 goals this season, 146 of them so far in the NHL, Gurianov still ranks last in average time on ice. In order for Gurianov not to be last in average time on ice, we have to expand the list to include the 181 players with 13 goals of more to finally find Ryan Donato’s 10:38 mark with the Minnesota Wild.

Even Chicago, with nothing to play for, is managing its rookie TOI.

If you look at the shift chart for the last game you’ll see that Hintz and Gurianov had nearly identical shift count.
http://www.nhl.com/stats/shiftcharts?id=2019021006

The main difference is that Hintz was on the ice when Radulov came out of the penalty box, so he had 1 fewer shifts. Otherwise, you’ll notice that Gurianov often takes shorter shifts than Hintz. No PK duty and short shifts are the reason why his ice time is low.

That is exactly what Bowness said the other week. Part of the issue is that Gurianov actually takes the length of shift (or maybe even shorter) the coaching staff wants to see. Unlike other people like ... cough .... cough .... Radulov. Bowness said that was something he was trying to manage and address.

The only explanation I can think of is that maybe Guri ends his shifts early after breakaway attempts. He went down pretty hard after a couple of them last game.
